Samuel Merritt - ELMSN FNP - Sacramento 2012

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone,

I did not see a post for the Spring 2012 ELMSN - FNP program in Sacramento, so I thought I would start one for all the hopeful FNPs.

A little about me:

My name is Jennifer and I live in Rancho Cordova. I have two young boys, 3 years old and 9 months, and this is the first year I am applying to the ELMSN FNP program. I have an undergraduate and graduate degree in Health Administration/Education and realized I want more patient interaction. So, here I am hoping I get accepted.

Best of luck to all the applicants!!

I interviewed on 9/20

Congrats to you!

Good to hear they are still accepting people. I interviewed last week, but I haven't heard anything, so I am just really nervous, anxious, scarred, excited.

Hows your overall GPA, Science GPA, TEAS, and what is your experience in this field? Wondering if I stand a chance?

Also, this is for CM or FNP?

I also interviewed on 9/20 for CM and haven't heard back. I'm on pins and needles here.

How did u feel about ur interview?

I didnt feel too confident about mine.

Have u contacted them to see when u would hear a response?

I didn't feel too confident about mine either. My interviewer was a bit tough on me. I remember she said that they would be contacting us in 2 weeks because they have to tabulate our score but it's 2 weeks today.

I have a feeling they will contact us by Friday.

This anxiety is killing me though!

What are ur stats like?

Gpa, science gpa, teas, experience?

I think they were really looking for people who have good clinical experience and show that they can handle an intensive accelerated program. I got accepted and I only have a 3.5 gpa, 80% teas. But I have my BS in kinesiology and did a one year internship in cardiac rehabilitation. I think it also really helps to have strong letters of recommendation.

Was anyone else caught off guard by the essay at the interview? I had no idea they were going to do that!

hopeful nurse 1,

Have you heard back yet?

Specializes in Oncology.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for all the kind words. I was very devastated when I heard the news but I guess it is for the best. I will be applying next year for the FNP and also the ABSN. We will see how it goes.

I am really happy for everyone accepted into the program. Being accepted is such a great accomplishment. Let us know how the first semester goes. Good luck to everyone and I wish you an awesome first semester. Go get um'!

Hey All!
