Sac State Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am about to send in my application to CSU Sacramento for Fall 13 and was wondering if there are any other people in the same predicament. Would love love to hear your experiences as well.

Thanks a lot scwolf, so it looks like we will get those instructions toward the end of May along with the orientation materials.

So I found this web page that breaks down all of the costs of classes and supplies we will need like your stethoscope and scrubs if anyone wants to check it out. It's from last spring so maybe it will change this semester but at least it's something until we get our info

That was really helpful! Thanks for posting!

Hello everyone, this is my 1st post. I got applied to Sac state for fall 2013 and I'm on waitlist. My GPA is a 3.93 and TEAS score was in the low 80s. :/ I was able to get 6 of the optional points though. I already agreed to my intent to enroll to the university and I plan to retake my TEAS so that I can apply for Spring 2014. I'm hoping for the best outcomes.

How many points do you have and where on the alternate list are you?

Hey..jus read this thread. thank you all for so much information.

scwolf - I just joined the facebook page as well :-)

rafaeia - I am also moving into town and have been looking for roommate/rental..let me know if your having any luck.

to everyone- Had a question about health insurance...I currently don't have any...im guessing this is required. does the school provide an option? Im sure this info will be covered in our late may email but figured I'd get a head start on it if I have to shop around.

@Vintageswagger: I got 68 points. I'm pretty far into the alternate list close by the 40s. I just checked Sac State's nursing home page and they already are up to alternate #16.

Hi! I am pretty sure health insurance is required. This link might be helpful: ASI Health Insurance - Student Health Center - Sacramento State

The health insurance part is freaking me out a bit. I am coming from a low income family, I will be surviving off of the financial aid I get. To find out the cost for the healthcare plan through Sac State for my age bracket is $2,583 annually , I seriously want to cry a bit. And the payment needs to be made in full?

eama444- thanks for the link.

forgetmenot21-i think you can break enrollment and payment into fall and spring if that helps a bit...if I use the school insurance that's what I will have to do...ouch..so expensive.

do we have to be insured through the school or can we seek out our own?? anybody have a great company they can recommend?

Forgetmenot21: have you considered applying for a program like medi cal if you are very low income? I think that may be the way to go for your situation. Healthcare is so expensive!! My husband has myself and my kiddos on his plan at work and we still pay a ton!!!

Splitting it up into semesters makes it a little less daunting. I was just overwhelmed by the total price I overlooked the split. I just wished it could be put into monthly payments lol.
