HI,

I am looking to relocate to Hayward California. Thinking about taking a traveller assignment there before i make the big official move. But anyway, my question is how is Hayward California, can you tell me of some hospitals in the area. I have 3.5 years of nursing experience with a strong Neuro background. How is the pay there? Can i live off of a nurses salary with one son, in Hayward Cali? What is rent like, crime, traffic, is Hayward really big,etc

thank you so much:clown:

The population in hayward consists mainly of latin americans, african americans, and asians. Lots of diversity. You won't find many "white" people around here. There are atleast 6 hospitals near by paying RN's in the 40's. Rent is about 1200 for a one bedroom apt. Schools aren't that great. Traffic problems from 7am to 9am and 430pm to 7pm.

I would recommend moving to either fremont, walnut creek, san ramon, or milpitas.

Ditto on NICUs comments. I went to school in Hayward, and still about 30 minutes away.

The upside is there are lots of great hospitals to choose from in the Bay Area. The downside is, that just like any other major metro area, there are good and not so good areas. But on a nurses pay ($40-50/hr), you should be able to find somewhere nice to live (rent).
