NEED major help in finding and choosing nursing schools

U.S.A. California

Hello everyone I am new to this forum..

I have a few concerns.. I have completed all my prerequisites for nursing at csula. It's been a year I have been trying to get into a RN program. I first started off by applying to BSN programs only.. Because my goal is to do CRNA in the future. But I was having such a hard time that I just gave up and began to apply to ADN programs.. I am getting impatient and my sciences courses are now going on to their 5th year ( and some schools do not take grades older than 5 years for science courses) any suggestions as to what I can do. Any regional accredited private schools? Please help I am giving up. Ps i live in the LA area

Have you maybe thought about relocating? I have a couple friends from Cali who actually ended up moving to Las Vegas to pursue their BSN- one is at Roseman and another finished at Touro if I'm not mistaken. It's worth a shot.

Hey thank u so much for ur reply! Unfortunately due to some personal family matter I cannot relocate.. I'm looking for something wishing La. Up to an hour or two drive is the most that's I can do.

Do you already have your bachelors degree in another major?

No I do not "/ but I've taken enough courses at csula to have a degree by now

Hang in there! CA is very competitive. ADN programs included. Which ADN programs have you applied to? Some are merit programs and some are lottery. Just apply to them all and see what happens. Increase your chances by applying every. The community colleges such as PCC, LACC, etc have a BSN collaborative program with CSULA. You do your ADN simultaneously with the BSN. After the two year ADN program, you finish your BSN in a year. LA County College of Nursing is also part of the CSULA BSN collab.

COC has the same BSN collab but with CSUN.

I know that LA County uses a point system. If your grades are good, you have a good shot. Go to the website and calculate the points and see if its worth applying.

Have you already taken the TEAS?

Hello! Thank u so much for ur reply. I have applied to la trade tech, cerritos, southwest and pierce. My grades are average about a/b.. I have also taken the teas 5 recently got 76% on it.. So I'm all ready to go. But just can't seem to get into a program.. It's extremely competitive.

Perfect! Visit the LA County College of Nursing website and calculate your points to see where you are. The cut off is somewhere between 80-82 points each semester. Good luck to you!

Unfortunately it's too late, I just checked their deadline ended already :(
