@Ihaveacatare you currently attending the post-masters tract for PMHNP? I'm interested in applying to UCSF and was wondering about work/life balance and if there are any CRNAs in your co-hort. Congrats for nearing the end of your first quarter!

UPENN is located in University City- it's a nice area, with a lot to do because both UPenn and Drexel University are located there. Personally I wouldn't want to go past 40th Street- you end up in 'West Philly' and it starts to get a little sketchy- however with Philadelphia there are quite a few sketchy areas lol. Not far from University City is Rittenhouse- very nice but very expensive- probably not the best option for a graduate student, especially since there's almost zero parking and one would have to park in a lot or garage- this alone will run you about $250/month. I currently live in Fishtown- I like the area, it's being built up, has lots of bars and cool places to eat- it's a little further away- maybe a 15 minute drive to UPENN, but definately more affordable than parts of Unversity City. Honestly, if you live near the El (the train) commuting isn't a real issue. Like I said, Philadelphia is definately a city of neighborhoods and I'm sure that there are nice places in West Philadelphia that aren't going to break the bank.

I currently live in Philadelphia and am a travel nurse. At this point I don't plan on taking any classes- I'm currently on assignment and have a per-diem as well in order to save as much money as possible. How about you?

Thanks! It wasn't too bad. I had searched this forum for tips and a lot of them were spot on. It was the usual questions such as why you want to pursue anesthesia and why that school and clinical questions pertaining to my specialty. If you've done your research on allnurses you will be fine.

Have you maybe thought about relocating? I have a couple friends from Cali who actually ended up moving to Las Vegas to pursue their BSN- one is at Roseman and another finished at Touro if I'm not mistaken. It's worth a shot.

I applied for early admission and submitted my application the first of January and had my interview the second week of March. I received my acceptance e-mail on 3/26. Was your complete application including supplementary materials and reccomendations submitted the 15th? If not, it's possible that you did not meet the deadline for early decision and have to wait until after the general deadline which I believe is in June.
