National University San Diego- October 2012 Cohort

U.S.A. California

As today was TEAS/essay day, I think it safe to say cohort 32 is pretty well established. So now that the last hoop has been jumped through, now its just a waiting game!

How does everyone else feel about their points? I talked to a few people today during the essay, and was hearing some pretty low scores being accepted. I was told a TEAS score above 70 was acceptable (shocking!!), and that the average cut off for the last cohort was between 84-85 points.

I'm looking at being between 87-91 points (depending on my essay, which i realistically expect a 4/5 on). I scored 87 on my TEAS, have all A's with a B+ in BioMedStats, and didn't repeat classes. The B+ drives me crazy, but from what Im seeing many people are applying with multiple B's and get accepted.

For people reading this that havent applied for their cohort yet, you dont need to take the TEAS at national!! Do NOT wait till that day to take it for your first any only time, thats insane! You can take it every day at SDSU, over and over again, until you get a good score. I am astonished by ppl who are only taking it once at National.

So, at the end of next month we'll find out if we are accepted or denied. Hows everyone else feelng?

Mine just changed to final review also. We're getting close!

OMG! Mine just changed to Final Review!!! =) I hope we find out this weekend.

So I did a little searching around, and it looks like for previous cohorts, when their app changed to 'final review' they still had to wait about a week for results.

I talked to ****** last Monday and she said this week we should have the results. When I applied for Cohort 30 once the page changed statues then we knew who made it that day via email from Margie. We should know tomorrow. I think she gives out results on a Saturday so people have time to digest the news before she gets bombarded with questions. Hopefully we will know tomorrow!

Hi mykllhr,

I also applied for cohort 30 and I also remember that our results were given on a Saturday, somewhat around afternoon. I really think today will be the big day...

While we wait for our results I want to ask something: are the nursing classes usually at night? I remember something like you go 2 days a week, either Monday or Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday from 5 - 10pm. I'm I correct? The thing is that I'm planning to take a part time job offer as a CNA, and I want to make sure my working schedule of 7am to 3:30pm won't interfere with the classes.

I have a friend that is in Cohort 30, class is whenever they say it is, and it will change every month/ month and a half. Plus clinicians are on top of the classes, so you should have class and clinical 4 times a week. some classes are in the morning and some are at night, she has even had classes on the weekend. Not every week schedule is the same. Also she has had problems with not finding out the next months schedule of classes until a week before hand. I know that 11 people failed out of the Cohort 30 due to them not getting a good enough grade on the finial test, most of those didn't quit their jobs. If you don't have to take the job don't, you can get adjusted to the new schedule demands and always get a C.N.A job later in the program. I guess it get easier towards the end, probably because you are use to it. Hopefully today is the day!!!!!!!!

Those of you who were not accepted this time around please have faith. It's a tough road but everything happens for a reason. As my mom always says, "reach for the stars".
