Hello Everyone!

I am planning on attending the ADN program at Napa Valley College in August and I was wondering if anyone else out here is doing the same thing.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Hi mintyfreshness, I'm also starting in the fall with you. I just mailed in my packet last week. Looking forward to meeting everyone. It's going to be a great experience we will all remember for the rest of our lives. C u soon, take care.

Hi Erbuffnut98! It is a great feeling when you submit your packet isn't it? Plus it gives you some cushion just in case things needed to be redone. I definitely agree that this will be a great experience as well.

Hello everyone. I am also starting the program this Aug. I can't wait to meet everyone. Question: Has anyone done the drug screen and back ground check? I see instructions, but it still has Fall of 2011 listed.

Hi Jaymelynn01! Congratulations! I did my background and drug screen last month. The instructions should still work for Fall 2012. I think the nearest for the drug screen for me was the building next to Queen of the Valley Hospital, since I live in American Canyon. I am excited to start as well, but I am making the most out of my work and vacation time this month before the nursing program starts.

FYI....The Syllabus for Fall 2012 is available now to download. Anyone know if they are selling the textbooks yet?

I'm curious about the books too. I will call the bookstore tomorrow and ask.

I went to the bookstore Friday and they said that it will not be available until late July to early August. Let me know if you hear anything different.

Hi Guys! So I called the bookstore today and the lady there said she will have them available later on today. She said the traditional book bundle bill cost about $800 and the e-bundle will cost about $500. The e-bundle is so much cheaper, but I think I'll go the traditional way of books and papers. I think i'll be more comfortable that way, but I'm not 100% yet. Which way are you guys planning to go?

Thank you for the textbook info. I think I might go the traditional book purchase, but then again, it is very convenient to have the text on a computer, ipad, etc...

Hi guys, I also went to the bookstore this morning and the Book bundle with books is 778.10 which includes the E version. The E-version only (no traditional books) is 432.90. I think I will be purchase the E book only. I think it is more convenient for me using the iPad. I've used it in the past and it is very convenient when highlighting notes and organizing your notes. But of course, do what is most comfortable for you. My main reason really is because it is a lot cheaper, :D. The lady said that is is available for purchase today, but call again to be 100 percent sure because I wanted to purchase some optional books like the drug books and dictionary and they still did not have the prices yet and not ready to be sold. So do check.

I do have a dilemma. I have some of the books listed in the syllabus from friends but they are 1 edition older. What do you you guys feel about older edition books? is it too risky? In the past they don't seem to differ so much, but then again, this is nursing.

Good luck! I'm so excited. See you all soon!

The handbook is also ready for download! :D

I went the traditional way and purchased the textbooks. The good thing is that the e-books are also included in the purchase for the bundle.
