I just applied for the ABSN for Fall 2012, just wondering if anyone has submitted their applications for this pool?

just finished my interview! my experience was very similar to karinehy. the staff is very nice. these were a few questions i was asked.

1. why do you want to become a nurse?

2. what conflict have you came in contact with and how did you resolve the issue?

3. how have you prepared mentally, physically for this accelerated program?

4. if things do not go according to plan, how would you deal with the issue?

these questions aren't exact words but you guys get the point..

within each question, they would give you feedback on your answer as far as how it relates to the program. she mentioned close to 300 students applied, about 120 of them were considered good candidates. about 80-100 got interviews. they would make their decision on may 15th and send out acceptance letters on may 18th.

Hello fellow nervous wrecks!

I just got the long awaited email that invited me to schedule an interview! I am curious as to how they decide when to send these off, but better late than never, right!?!?! Thank you to all who have been posting their interview experiences, this is very helpful. I will do the same and to monlu, your comment on us all in this together is so true. Everyone has been so supportive on this thread and it really helps. Best of luck to everyone!

They give you a scenario and ask how you would deal with it.

Hey Karinehy, what type of scenario did they ask you? I am really curious about that. Oh, and go Gauchos! I graduated from UCSB in '05.

Gaucho locos for life! Haha!

It was like someone else posted before, they give u a scenario that involves an unexpected change - mine was something about teachers changing clinical times or locations and us thinking it was unfair.. How we would deal with it.

Apparently there are no wrong answers??

I guess it all comes down to next week....

If you talk about a scenario you have encountered in the past maybe she wont ask you that question. Instead for my interview, she talked about what does happen from time to time, I'm assuming that's probably why she didn't give me a scenario for my interview. Hope that helps!

The question that many of us in my cohort got was in regards to whether your have been in an ethical dilemma and how you dealt with it. I know that question caught a few of us off guard so I wanted to prepare you guys. I wish you all the best of luck and I'm here if you guys have any questions!

-for the ethical dilemma, i think the best way is ask for the supervisor or senior collagen....????i think a lot of questions seen like don't have right or wrong answers...my question is what they looking for?????

Hi guys, Good luck to all those who have an interview coming up =) I just had mine Tuesday June 5.

I guess they let you know whether your accepted pretty fast cause I just checked my webadvisor, and it has changed to ACCEPTED, WHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!
