Letter of Recommendation from optometrist or clinical instructor??

U.S.A. California

Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering is it better to ask for a letter of recommendation from an optometrist that I work for (but her grammar isn't that great) or my CNA clinical instructor who only has a LVN license?

Thanks!

Anyone?

If it's an application for nursing school, I would say you would be better served by a reference from your CNA instructor. That person has seen you perform as a student, and has seen how you do direct client care (and interact with clients) similar to what you'll be doing in nursing school. IMO (and I've taught in a few different nursing programs over the years), that would trump a reference from an employer.
