How is College of San Mateo nursing program?

U.S.A. California

:coollook: Does anyone know if College of San Mateo offers a good RN program. I've heard different stories and I don't know what to believe anymore. Some said that they give poor lecture and minimal support, and others said that it's a pretty easy program comparing to others. Can any former graduates or current CSM students give me some idea. It'd be greatly appreciated!

Maybe it's because there could still be a big chance that people decline their admission because they were admitted to other programs? In my case, I was also accepted to CCSF program. So I am debating between the two..don't lose hope just yet!

Hi guys,

when did you hear from CSM? Did you get your notification letters via email or regular mail? Thanks

I received a traditional postal letter on 3/17

Hey guys,

Has anyone who's been accepted to the program for fall 2014 attended the orientation? What do you guys think about the program overall? Is anyone commuting? I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks.

Hi Haily.. I wasn't allowed to PM

back for some reason, but yes I attended both. Let me be completely honest with you. I was not

impressed by CCSF's orientation. It was so disorganized and I felt like everything is still up in the air with them. It makes me nervous that they don't even know what's going to happen, whereas CSM seemed much more organized. I'm leaning more towards CSM to be quite honest. It's a further commute that I think will be worth it. Even the building is so much newer & just seems like a better learning environment. What are your thoughts?

I think the CSM program sounds great if you just want your RN. It's reputation is similar to any other junior college in the area. However, unless you already have a bachelor's degree I would strongly suggest looking into programs that offer a BSN. Many hospitals now, are only hiring nurses that have BSN coupled with the fact that the hiring pool is already so competitive in the area.

Hello, I am just accepted into SMC nursing program and I would like to have updated information about the program. Does anyone know about the program? And which university will the students are able to transfer after 2 years?

Hi, how was the college of san mateo program? I'm going to be applying in Jan. TIA

Hey Hailyxo, I'm just curious which one you ended up going to? And why you made your choice ( I know this post is old) but hopefully you can answer my question :)
