  1. At this point I have decided on CSM. I'm going in to turn in my paper work some time this week before Friday's deadline and will be declining CCSF on Monday if all goes well. I had an issue with my immunizations which is why I haven't already declined CCSF.
  2. I'm currently living in the East Bay.. Brentwood to be exact, it's about 30 minutes from Walnut Creek (about an hour in traffic). It took me 2 hours to get to CSM & 3 hours to get home. Ridiculous I know! So I'm trying to see if I can find a place to rent closer to that area. Going to CCSf would save me 2 hours + of commute a day. Everything for me is dependent on whether nanny is willing to move with us to San Mateo.. & if we can even find a place over there. So many things to do before August & not enough time.. Once I've made my decision, I will let you guys know!
  3. It was hard not to want to compare the economic status of each school! Lol At CCSf it felt really unorganized, no AC was killing me, going up 6 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor & no elevator killed me, the classrooms looked old & boring, etc. I didn't want to put a lot of attention to that but it's so hard not too! I didn't get to check out the skills lab at CSM but I bet it was amazing! I'm actually an expecting mama so if you saw a pregnant student there, that was me! There was another pregnant woman at the CSM orientation though... So it is very important for me also to get back home to my daughter. Where are you guys commuting from?
  4. I agree it was concerning that 12 students dropped/were dropped from the CSM program & the student panel didn't seem too concerned about them.. Have you checked out their NCLEX pass rates? Both schools have been pretty consistent in the 85% range until last year, CCSf dropped down to 76%.
  5. CCSf is a way shorter drive for me too. & I actually kinda like that CSM changes every 8 weeks.. But to each their own lol. Also, you make a good point, CSM doesn't actually have a Pharmacology course, I think it's just incorporated throughout. But that would be a great question to email and ask about. Here's the link to CSM's curriculum: Nursing at College of San Mateo - Curriculum I wish CCSf had their stuff together because I've heard wonderful things about their program for past and current students. I'm just not for all the uncertainty & For the Director of the program not to even know when & where clinicals will be held, it causes a great deal of anxiety for me lol. Which ever program we chose, I hope we all succeed and reach our ultimate goal of sitting for the NCLEX & passing! :)
  6. Hi, I was also at both. Do you have a school you're leaning more towards? I'm feel confused about City & feel a lot better about CSM. & City seemed disorganized, whereas CSM had all of their program planned out. & I like how we will always know our schedule in advance. I wish I could give City a chance, but I think I'm leaning more towards CSM.
  7. Hi Haily.. I wasn't allowed to PM back for some reason, but yes I attended both. Let me be completely honest with you. I was not impressed by CCSF's orientation. It was so disorganized and I felt like everything is still up in the air with them. It makes me nervous that they don't even know what's going to happen, whereas CSM seemed much more organized. I'm leaning more towards CSM to be quite honest. It's a further commute that I think will be worth it. Even the building is so much newer & just seems like a better learning environment. What are your thoughts?
  8. Haily, That would be great! We'll keep in touch and once I've made my decision, I'll post it here! Or any new information, I'll keep the forum up to date. See you! & Good luck to everyone as well!
  9. CCSF is more convenient for me as well. I know someone who's also in the CCSF RN program right now and will be graduating at the end of the year. She loves the program & recommended I go there too. I think I will be attending both orientations & hopefully get some questions about CCSF's accreditation answered there. If you find anything out, I'd appreciate it if you kept me posted. Thanks!
  10. Hi Hailyxo, Were you also accepted to the Nursing Program at CSM? If so, which school will you be choosing to attend? & why? I was accepted into both and trying to make my decision asap to give others on the waitlist an opportunity. I'm from the East Bay so I'm not too familiar with either school. But I agree that the whole accreditation thing for CCSF has me worried too.
  11. Thank you Jimmy! I called ATI today and spoke a lady who said that I must have accidently checked off ADN instead of BSN but that it's the same test for all programs! Pheww! I was worried! Again, thank you for your response! :)
  12. Hello, I was wondering of anyone could help me out. I took my TEAS yesterday with the intention of applying to a BSN program. However, when I received my scores today it states program type: ADN. I don't remember ever answering the question which program I intended to apply to so I'm a little confused as to why my individual profile doesn't state program type: bsn.. Also, the school I had my scores sent to is a BSN program.. Anyway if anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate that very much. Thank you!
  13. Heey, This is also my first time applying & I'm enrolled for Micro in the fall. How'd your TEAS go? I'm scheduled for this Monday in San Francisco. Are you applying to any other programs? I'm thinking about applying to community colleges for next fall if I don't get in. I would love to just get in a BSN program, but don't we all. Good luck with your application! Deadline is almost here!
  14. Hello togagirl, Good luck on your TEAS exam! I'm taking mine for the first time on Monday! I'm extremely nervous too! I can't seem to get passed the first page of the application because I have to enter my TEAS scores first. Do you have any classes in progress? And is this your first time applying?
  15. Hey! I'm actually applying for the Spring 2014 semester too. However, my GPA is even lower than yours! I have a 3.2 GPA but I have over 3 years of volunteer experience and my CNA certificate and work experience, so I'm hoping that'll help a little. I was wondering if you've taken your TEAS yet? I'm actually studying for mines right now! I'm so nervous because I feel like I need to score really high to make up for my low GPA!
