Finding a Preceptorship in Los Angeles

I am in an LVN program in Los Angeles. Our school offers a clinical site however in all honesty...it SUCKS!

I was told yesterday that if I found a preceptor in my area I can do my clinical rotations for last term there. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I would really l like to be in a hospital, surgical or mental health setting.

Has anyone ever done this? I have 4 months to find a place and complete the paperwork with my school or I'm going to be stuck at their clinical site :(
