Fall 2014 Canada College SFSU Sequoia Hospital Nursing Program?

Applied for the Fall 2014 and eagerly awaiting an answer from admission. Can anyone fill me in on what GPA, TEAS V score, prereq stats, etc... they had to get in or conversely what they had if denied?

Hi Briana,

Sorry I saw your post so late. My name is Megan, and I am in my second semester. I remember how horrible the wait was for me at this time last year. I think most people had a 3.7 or above gpa and placed advanced on the TEAS (most, not all). I think almost everyone had some form of supplemental criteria also. This program does a great job at looking at the bigger picture and gives you points for volunteer work etc.

Hi Megan! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, waiting and being in limbo is really hard! I have 3.7 overall gpa, 4.0 prereq, I'm bilingual, did more than half my courses at smccd. I do not have any volunteering and I scored 74(proficient) on the TEAS test(which I'm worried about) Hoping that they will overlook that one area. Were there many that scored proficient who got in? I'm really worried this will get me nixed. Also, How do you like the program? Would you mind if I emailed you a few questions? Thanks so much!

I remember the waiting, it was the worst part. I tried to keep myself as busy as possible. You are a very competitive applicant! the fact the you got a 74 on the TEAS should not hurt you too bad. There were quite a few that got proficient scores in my cohort. they really look at everything when they do applications. I know being bilingual looks really good! I think you have a very good chance of getting in! hopefully they let you guys know soon!! And I do like the program, we are the first cohort with the new curriculum so everything is still being perfected. Of course you can email me, i will send you a private message with my email.

Congrats, Briana! I'm in for Fall 2014 too!

I was on the waiting list and just got notified yesterday. Whew, that wait was killer!!!!

3.3 overall gpa, 3.4 prereq, 3.76 science prereqs, bilingual, most of my courses were at SMCCD. I have my Bachelor's from SFSU. Volunteered at St. Francis Memorial. Scored 85 on my TEAS.
