I remember the waiting, it was the worst part. I tried to keep myself as busy as possible. You are a very competitive applicant! the fact the you got a 74 on the TEAS should not hurt you too bad. There were quite a few that got proficient scores in my cohort. they really look at everything when they do applications. I know being bilingual looks really good! I think you have a very good chance of getting in! hopefully they let you guys know soon!! And I do like the program, we are the first cohort with the new curriculum so everything is still being perfected. Of course you can email me, i will send you a private message with my email.

Hi Briana, Sorry I saw your post so late. My name is Megan, and I am in my second semester. I remember how horrible the wait was for me at this time last year. I think most people had a 3.7 or above gpa and placed advanced on the TEAS (most, not all). I think almost everyone had some form of supplemental criteria also. This program does a great job at looking at the bigger picture and gives you points for volunteer work etc. Wishing you luck!

Hey everyone! Thanks again for all the advice! After not hearing from the university last week I feared the worst, but today I received a call stating someone denied their admissions and the spot was mine if I wanted it!!! They said they felt so bad for what happened they put me right at the top of a wait list. I'm so excited to start the program!!

Thank you all for the advice. This is probably the most frustrating thing that has ever happened to me. I was on the phone all yesterday with the university and they put me in contact with a woman who might be able to get them to reevaluate my application. I just received a call from the nursing coordinator and she told me they are working on the situation and will let me know Tuesday what is going to happen. I'm crossing my fingers, but also trying not to get my hopes up ;/

Two days ago I received notice that I was denied admission to my dream nursing program. I have worked very hard for the past two years and have a 3.71 gpa, 100+ volunteer hours at a hospital and an 86 on my TEAS. I was completely heartbroken for the past two days, but today I decided to try harder to get in next year. So I called the BSN program I applied to to see what I can do to better myself. As the woman on the phone began to review my application she told me I was missing a biology class. This was a biology class that I had taken in fall 2011 and received an A in. This class is on my transcript! However, somewhere along the line it was said I did not have this class and I was denied. I was not even notified by anyone that they had a class missing and now it is too late. The lady on the phone made it seem like I could have gotten in this year! I am so upset and frustrated that someone could be so careless and cost me admission to my dream school! Has anyone had a similar story? Is there anything I can do about it?

I was expecting them to come this Friday until melygina called and they told her end of next week :/ I really wish they would send them out soon. The waiting is making me so nervous! One more week of torture

Thank you space monster for info about all the changes in the Cañada program and sfsu. Good luck to all of us waiting!! Hopefully we hear back before the end of next week and I can get my sanity back

I was volunteering at sequoia last week and ran into a girl in the nursing program. She told me her friend is applying with us and called the school recently and they told her last week of April we should have gotten out letters last week, but sounds like sfsu had a ton of applications which is why it is so late. I know that the sequoia and sfsu like to send letters out together so looks like 2 more weeks of the waiting :'( hopefully I can make it!! Five months of waiting is torture! Hope we are waiting to hear the good news though

Hello Deanna1990, I'm so happy you started this thread! I too am applying to the sfsu/sequoia program. This will be my first time applying so I am really nervous. That is great that you got in last year. Sounds like you have a for sure in this year then. :) I hope they send out letters in march the waiting is driving me crazy

I will be taking my teas on tues! I'm so nervous! I just got the ati manual and have been reading it extensively. I've also been studying the McGraw hill text. I will let you know how I do studying off those two. I'm not expecting too high of score considering the practice exam gave me a 60%. But that was before the ati manual came in so we shall see.
