Evergreen Valley College ... input please?

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone,

I just found this site and read a few of the threads. I saw that some people actually graduated from there so I have a few questions that I hope you could answer for me.

I'm from Oklahoma and might make the move to San Jose and attend Evergreen Valley College. However, I don't know anyone who attending and thus, have no personal info on it. I'm really confused on whether to stay in OK or go to Cali.

Is it hard to get in? How hard are the classes? Where do u go to do your classes like pysch..which hospital or medical center? Anyways, anything that you can let me know I will really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Laura

Hi EllieBean13,

I was reading through the older posts regarding EVC and was wondering if I can ask you a few questions.

I just got accepted to EVC program and am very excited to begin nursing classes! I feel very lucky to be selected, but also a little nervous, so here is my questions:) How do you like the program so far? When did you find out what semester you can start? How many days a week do you have to be in school and and out for clinicals. I live in Mountain View and really hope that classes start in early morning hours, so I can beat the traffic:). Sorry, for too many questions, and thank you!

Hi Mila3791!

First off, congratulations on getting into the program! What exciting news! So far, the program has been absolutely wonderful. The first semester instructors for both lecture and clinical are some of the best I have ever had, and I have been in school for a LONG time lol. Also the camaraderie among fellow students is unlike I have ever experienced. In orientation they will tell you that your classmates become a second family to you- they aren't lying :) From the time I received my initial acceptance email and sent in my TEAs scores, to when I found out what semester I was to start in was roughly 3.5 months. For the clinical group I was put into, my schedule was lecture monday and tuesday from 815-1030. Both days had either a peer-led group activity or lab skills time afterward. Wednesday was skills lab at 830 with our clinical group and then clinical prep at the hospital where we picked out our patient. Thursday and Friday we had clinical from 630-145.

Congratulations again, and if you have any more questions feel free to PM me!

Thank you so much EllieBean!

I have a better idea now of the first semester structure! I am very excited to start the program, and happy to hear that you enjoying the program so much!

I'll definitely PM you with more questions soon:)
