Oh really?! I heard last year they only had 60 complete applications! It is A LOT of extra work to do for just one school and thats why I think many people put off on applying. But i truly believe its their loss! CSUDH is my first choice! I know we'll both get in! Fingers crossed :)

Really just 60 completed??? WOW! I had a girl ask "So do I have to take pathio? What if I haven't got in the program do I have to take it?" The dean said "No understanding your question, but I think I have an idea of what you are saying.....You don't want to take pathio if you haven't been accepted." The student replied "Yes I don't want it to be a waste of money!" I thought are you serious right now? You just asked that? If you want to come here you will do what you have to do. I didn't get into the patho class because I thought it was spring not winter, so I missed my opportunity to take the class. I will take it summer. I'm hoping they do offer it in spring, but will see what happens. I'm doing my CNA now and hoping to do patho class in the summer. I calculated if people go to info 20-25 and one was cancelled 5 info x20/25 =100-125 max so it put us a 50/50 chance right? The dean said that they can tell the people that want it and the people just turn stuff in. YAY! 1st choice! Oh man that would be great we both get it!!! where did you do your cna?

Thank goodness! I had my interview on Feb. 14 so now is the waiting game. I've been checking my application status and the mail everyday. Good luck to everyone! :)

Wow what an experience Star28! I think we have a better chance than just 50/50 though, because not all those who attend a workshop submit a portfolio or follow through with an application! How many students do they accept per cohort again?

I actually did an LVN program through LAUSD and was able to complete my CNA through equivalency training! Where are you doing your CNA?

Hi Everyone!!

Also applied for the Fall 2012 Cohort. I interviewed on the 15th and simply waiting. I just checked MyCSUDH and my status changed from "Your application is complete and etc..." to "You have been admitted" but I haven't received any letters. Has anyones status also changed?

Thanks for the heads up! I just checked MyCSUDH and my status also changed to "You have been admitted to the university" :heartbeat

But what does this MEAN!? Does it mean we are accepted to the university and are still waiting to be admitted to the SON? or does the status change once you are admitted to both?

I haven't received anything in the mail yet either. All I know is that they are starting to send out letters in the next couple of weeks. I'm thinking of calling Admissions/SON on Monday to clarify what this new updated status means specifically.

I have no idea what it means and it's drving me crazy!! MOST of the time admission to the university means admission to the deparment but I don't want to get too excited yet. I read other threads and they all said that they got a pink letter stating they were admitted but with very few details on it (I'm assuming it was to the university). Later they received a welcome letter from SON. Either way it's a good sign. Keep me updated if you decided to call on Monday...the anticipation is killing me.

EXCITING NEWS!!!!! :yeah:

so I called the Admissions office this morning and they verified what dcruzmm99 said, admission is based on the university AND the department! So if your status changed, you're in! And just to top it off, I got my acceptance letter from the SON in the mail this afternoon! :rotfl:

I am SO happy to finnnalllyy start planning my graduate future! :nurse:

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ADMITTED!! I cant wait to meet you!!

OMG congrat!!! Sanmahi!!!!!! That's soo awesome!! I got a call and have my interview this week!! WOOT WOOT!!! I'm soo excited!!! EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even imagine how excited you must be feeling! How many days did it take from interview to acceptance? So exciting everyone!! We are so much more closer to where we want to be in our career. Congrats to everyone! Yay!
