Hello nurses!! :) is anyone else applying for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles RN Residency Program that starts September 4th, 2012??? :)

I just interviewed with 6 west ( transplants/surgical unit) they said 2-3 weeks so yeah end of may early June.. Anyone know how many are being hired per unit and how many they are interviewing?

Specializes in Peri - Operative.

there is no set amount of how many they are hiring , but i believe they can hire 3-5 per unit , depending on the department managers.... and i believe the first week of june is when they are going to start calling people if they are hired or not.

as far as interviewee ratio to available positions i believe is 7- 10 per unit and they hire 3-5.

got a call, did not get chosen for CV acute :( Unless someone does not accept their position

Aww I'm sorry to hear that! That was fast... When did you interview?

Got the call that I didn't get the position. Honestly, don't know what to do at this point. Tried to remain positive thus far but I'm 10 months out of school and running out of a happy thoughts, options, and time. But good luck and best wishes to the rest!!

Dear Starghadeer - I'm so sorry to hear that. It's tough getting all those rejections and I know I do start to doubt myself sometimes too. It's hard when you come so close too. When I feel really down, I go and watch this video:

and I try to remember that even if things look really bleak I need to have faith that they will start looking up. It's up to me to keep plugging along to make that happen.

Also, please remember, that it is a huge accomplishment just to get that interview and that you are doing something right if you got it, so keep doing that and there will be more interviews. Plus practice will make you do better with each one, till you land the perfect job for you. I know many people who went through 4-6 till they found their groove and got their dream job.

Sending positive thoughts your way :)

I'm sorry to hear that. I agree that doing an interview is an accomplishment in itself, and we will never know the exact reasons why we don't get selected. So much is out of our control, and as long as we can say we're doing everything within our power, we just let this long, awful, frustrating job hunt take its course.

sorry starghadeer, I felt the same way! I wish you the best of luck...

Didn't get it either :(
