California Home Prices Drop ...

U.S.A. California

In CA and NYC, those will be the hardest hit areas. Cities that are "up and coming" and still growing rapidly, will probably still see increases, but they will be more steady and not what they were before.

From a personal perspective, I can't imagine anyone choosing to move to either location. Yeah, there are alot of things to do and the weather in CA is great, but the quality of living and expense? No way.

well thats true ... but like if you're already accustomed to CA lifestyle its not that hard to just work hard and get through it haha ... even while griping about the taxes *yes my parents nag about it and moan plenty haha*...

boy wouldnt that be a dream come true to have a house as a present after graduating as an RN? lol

Market corrections are good and bad... They make it possible for people who couldn't afford to buy a house otherwise to become homeowners. That's how we were able to buy our first house in the early 1990s. We're not concerned about this correction, because we actually bought our house to live in, not to flip.

You know ... there seems to be a recurring pattern here. And I'm not just talking about this thread.

There's a lot of places that I'd rather die than live in. And I'm sure many Californians feel the same way.

But I don't see people routinely making a point of going to the forums in other states and telling people how bad it is and that they shouldn't live there.

What's up with all of these California haters? Seems like California bashing has become a favorite past time.

Maybe we should go to the other forums and start complaining about everything that's wrong with their state.

This is getting to be ridiculous.

I agree, and I have said the same thing many times. For reasons no one seems to care to explain, it is perfectly fine to bash California. I wonder if it is also fine for us to say ''Great. We don't want you here, anyway"?

I never posted that it was a bad place to live and that OTHERS shouldn't live there. I said from a personal perspective I couldn't understand why someone would want to live there, because the expense is through the roof!

First ... as I previously stated: my comment was directed not just to you but the large numbers of people who trash California on a regular basis.

There's dozens of states where I can't imagine why anyone would want to move there either. Mostly because I've lived in a lot of them.

But I don't go into in those state forums and tell them why I think their home town sucks.

If people don't like it here or think it's too expensive or whatever fine. THEN DON'T MOVE HERE.

But give it a rest ... for crying out loud.

If this California bashing keeps up ... I'm going to start some "Why Your State Sucks" threads. There's many states on my list, actually.

;)

Really? I have never been on the CA forum so I wouldn't know, but I always thought of CA as a place with tons of people WANTING to move there, not bashing the state! I guess it is different in nursing? Seriously my friend here at college is from CA and you should see people's faces when she tells them that. That and the friend from NYC. People are usually pretty jealous. Yeah, I know if people make fun of Jersey, we don't take it too well :angryfire

I personally would love to go visit CA sometime. I don't know about living there since I don't really have a desire to leave the east coast, but I think me and my friends are going to go there this summer.

Yeah ... that's probably the real story. People are jealous. Especially since we have ratios here.

You gotta wonder why they always have to go out of their way to complain about a place where they don't even live.

Was anyone actually asking you whether or not they should live here?

You didn't just mention the expense as being a problem, but also the ''quality of living''. Oh, really? I think we have a wonderful quality of life here, better than anywhere I've ever been, as a matter of fact. I certainly can understand other people feeling that way about their homes, which is why bashing the place that people live is so offensive. Whether I would like to live there is thoroughly beside the point.

Well, in the future, I would advise if a comment isn't being directed toward a member, probably the first step in making that clarification is to not copy the post.

Have a nice day!
