  1. ive been working for almost a month now at a nursing home and the paper work is eh the stress is blah... i mean i love the patients with all my heart and wish them well especially when they leave and come out on better terms than when they came in... but sometimes i feel so sad and blah that that job is just not my place idk if im more business minded or more of the pharmaceutical type or whatever but i like nursing but am not in love with what im doing rite now... i think its normal cause i hear stories allt he time... u guys think i should continue and do some time THEN find a new opportunity in the field of nursing or what? (like i said to me the direct patient care thing is like 50-50 with me im happy but im not in LOVE with the job i think id have more pleasure and happiness on the business end or something along the lines where im still in the medical field) long answer to the question... yes as an LVN it does get stressful and in my case i have a lot to think about but it definitely is stressful and tiring and the days off never seem like enough BLAH haha
  2. that's true because I'm currently attending ACC and its like 27k so CA's private institutes are really up there in price...
  3. at my LVN program we have blue scrubs for class and at clinicals *which we havent started yet* we have white unis with a little royal blue on the end of our sleeves *short sleeves* so its not TOO bland hahah
  4. im getting like super paranoid because one of my friends just got into ROP's LVN program and yeah. she finished her fundamentals class and is good to go. i live in the anaheim area so hopefully that helps. im looking into ACC simply because i heard of ppl who went through and passed it... yet again i also heard ppl who also went in and got back out because they didnt like the teachers * like what you described at concorde*... the concorde i visited in garden grove is like a 20min drive thats brutal *filled with construction*...im so turned off from going there and they seem too intense for me. + like you said i heard its just lectures and tests... at other places like ACC im hearing u get work and quizzes and tests so it'll help reinforce quite a bit. ROP is tempting purely on cost on top of its past few years in 90%+ test scores of its students taking the license test. i got an appt on wednesday to check out ACC so if anyone has already graduated or have been there let me know how it is thanks
  5. These are the three places i'm looking into but need recommendations. My community college has a waiting list of like 300 ppl or something taking it about 40-50 ppl a semester ... so if you do your math we're talking forever till you get in haha.. + I'm barely still on anatomy in my prereqs so its like time is not on my side rite now But seriously though im torn between all three. I've visited Concorde *btw these are the OC campuses...* in Garden Grove.. I like the look and everything but I wasn't buying the long drive from home. It is a possibility but like that's prolly my last resort *unless u can tell me otherwise* Brymann.. I haven't heard much about ...actually barely ANYTHING about it so I'm hesistant to try there, but it is close in the area so yeah. And then American Career College... from what I heard .. it's fine from Concorde... I heard that Concorde is very lecture based .. take ur notes and take ur test.... I heard at ACC its like hmwk and stuff and tests so you get more to do but maybe that's a good thing idk. + I know some ppl who are happy they passed as LVNs but uh I've heard about one person going back to get to their new RN program. SoOoo whatcha think guys... thanks
  6. yeahhh it would be good to hear form any CSUF nursing majors... It is also close to me too.. I heard CSULB is like hell for the waiting and plus thats a bit out of reach to me. Oh! and also is anyone in the accelerated ADN-MSN program? My friend knows someone that got in there and is done with their first year telling them their like dying but making it through * i believe he said she has a husband and a kid .. so more pressure huh*
  7. well thats true ... but like if you're already accustomed to CA lifestyle its not that hard to just work hard and get through it haha ... even while griping about the taxes *yes my parents nag about it and moan plenty haha*... boy wouldnt that be a dream come true to have a house as a present after graduating as an RN? lol
  8. yeahh i really should considering the private colleges ive looked at have said the tuition is about 25-28k ... i believe the ROP program is like a few thousand? .... the problem i have is that i really havent heard ppl graduating from there ... and like idk how the teachers are... but in addition to that .. im not sure what to do POST lvn program... i heard you need to work for a short amount of time before you can apply for an RN program... and + i waiting list for the mobility programs around the area are still like 1 year minimum *compared to 2 for other students*... private might be the best option huh? American Career College // Concorde I heard are getting their RN programs in place so thats really enticing me to look harder with them
  9. So wait is there like an LVN-BSN program that ROP offers? Where will you be attending... I've been looking at Concorde/American Career College/ROP... Im actually taking prereqs to set me up if I want to get into a Cal State *i believe that units arent transferable ... so im taking Anatomy now... then Physiology & Microbio*... and u mention the alternatives.. are they involved within the program or just basically on a waiting list? NOCROP is so close you know and ive just recently read about it so its becoming more intriguing compared to a private school *which we all know takes lots of $$$$* congrats too btw haha
