If it takes 30 days to get the results of your NCLEX by mail, how soon can you get online?

Hi i am in the same boat. I gave exam on aug 19th and my result is not on web site yet. Does it mean that I failed nclex exam? I got only 79 questions during exam and I think I got most of the questions on priority and analysing and I believe that these kind of questions keep you above the passing line aren't they? can somebody give me some claarification on this? I called sacramento nursing office two times and both times they said that "my file is not processed yet. your result is not out yet and we will forward this messagae to the person who is handling results of your area " I am very stressed. Anybody has answer for me?

You can also keep checking CA website, when you have been issued a license it will be posted with the number, still faster than waiting for snail mail.

This doesn't work for those abroad - I am still not on the California website despite passing the NCLEX in March '05. To be a registered, licensed nurse you need a social security number. And the snail pace at which your beaurocratic backward country operates - well, you may be waiting for years to come!! I had to wait 6 weeks for my results to filter through to the UK. Sometimes I ask myself whether it's all worth the stress and expense!

Checking the website is only for US nurses or those who have a SSN#. For all others, you must wait for the snail mail, and you still will not have a license then that you can endorse. You will not be assigned a number until you give them a SSN#. This is why I never, ever advise CA for initial licensure for a foreign grad.

If you are in the US, it can take anywhere from one to four weeks until you will get your results. This is for CA only. They do not subscribe to early notification.

I had my NCLEX - RN exam last Sept. 26, 2005 in Wayne PA. But I am an applicant under CA BRN. I'm not actually sure when they did post the result in the website (www.rn.ca.gov), but I waited for a week to visit the site again. I click onto License Verification which you'll be able to find at the center - right side; and typed my name and I was just so happy and relieved that I passed my examination. But, on my data they posted that it was three days after my test they forwarded and considered active my status.So, good luck to all NCLEX - RN takers.

HI!! In addition to what I had posted, I actually finished my exam at question # 82. I really wasn't sure if I passed my test that day b'coz mine was a mixture of a knowledge test then after a few knowledge test came in the prioritization and some analysis and delegation. And, guess whta? I did pass my NCLEX - RN exam thanks to GOD!! So, I just concluded to myself when I got my result on the internet that if you do get a series of prioritization, delegation or analysis kind of question you're on the right track. Ok. Good Luck!!!

You are so lucky... I dont think I made it .... I cannot find my name on the website... Does this really mean, I really failed? (sob)..... But anyway, my congratulations to you :) :balloons:

it can take a long time. i passed my nclex for california in april. eventhough i have a license in theory, in practice i don't. You need to verify your nclex result (along with your all other educational certificates and english language test) at the visascreen people in philadelphia - cgfns - (who, by the way, are very difficult to deal with - they requested my academic breakdown results twice for no apparent reason - not even they knew - so it held up my visascreen application! and as for phone skills - well - don't even go there!!!). i have just received my visascreen certificate after 6 months and am now waiting for my intereview at the embassy (again, this has taken three months and still no date). after you have had your embassy interview (and subsequent medical! - more $$$$$$!!!!!!), and, providing you get your visa - i have been told that only then will you be able to apply for your social security number and THEN you can get your licence.

The confusion arises when you apply for your visascreen. They ask you if you have a US nursing licence. Theoretically, you have passed your NCLEX then you do, but because of the SSN you don't. So tick "No" (as I was told by them) and on some forms there is a box to tick for passing the NCLEX and on some there aren't. Tick it if there is. Send off your license verification visascreen form to New Jersey or California (or wherever you have passed the exam) along with more $$$$$!!!!! (i just laugh now when they say pay another $400 for this or that, otherwise i'd cry) and once they return that to CGFNS, it satisfies your US licensure visascreen needs. I'm sorry if that's conveluted - it's the worst, most frustrating and greedy beaurocratic system i've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. hopefully it will all be worth it! good luck!

When did you take the exam? And for the RN or the PN? They are handled differently by the BON.

I took the NCLEX - RN Exam last sept 26.And according to the CA website, my result was alreaedy active three days after my test.But, I waited for a week after I did fin'lly checked my status. so, hope this info helps those who are still waiting for they're result.But, it doesn't mean if after a week you don't see your name on the site of that certain BON, doesn't mean you failed.

Processing time is still done by a human and not a computer in California. There is no specific time frame as to when someone will get results. Some receive them in three days, and others wait close to one month.

I took the exam sept 24.... I am just so consumed with fear....I am applying for my RN License here in CA.
