  1. Hi JT I understand your pain and frustration... But dont give up too easily....Majority of the passers had 75 questions also so I believe you are in a better position than I am... Just hang in there ok... Goodluck to all of us... Prayers go out to you and to all of the examinees... :balloons:
  2. GOODLUCK KIMHAW.... Hope everything goes well with you... :)
  3. Hello Ashley I am in the same boat as you are... Well I finished 230 questions but until now I havent seen my name in the BON website for CA.... And no letters yet... Its been more than a week and I am so darn scared.... Goodluck to both of us..Thanks everyone for your positive feedbacks......May God bless you all!
  4. hello all wow its been a while since i posted here in this website because i was busy preparing for the nclex since feb this year and finally took it last june 8... after taking it... i was just crying..... i felt horrible... i thought to myself... i prepared for the exam and studied hard everyday and i feel miserable... i think all of you guys feel the same way after you did all that work. i have read saunders, nclex cram and even nsna and mosby... i have done over 3000 questions and still made me feel unprepared for the exam....ofcoorifice it made it even more stressful since ca board for rn takes a long time for you to know your results... i am just patiently waiting and see if my name does pop up in the bon website... just keeping myself busy cooking.... lol last time, i had i think 160 questions and failed... which i took 6 hours to finish..this time, i had 230 and took 6 hours as well... my goodness.. i thought i am ready to fall out of my chair...there were only 2 people in the room and i had to take my breaks twice just to go to the bathroom... a lot of infection control, priority and general knowledge..ofcoorifice meds (just one math question).... i guess i am just venting and hopefully gain some encouragement and prayers from all of you... goodluck to all of us.... :angryfire
  5. Hi No. I dont think the CA BON would issue a permanent license to a NCLEX RN Passer without a social security number. My friend who came from the Philippines took awhile before she got her license because she has to apply for her social.
  6. Hi Nefer, Gosh... I understand how you are feeling... And just like what I have told the others... patience is really a virtue... The BON has their own procedures and we would have to be patient in getting our results... The 75 questions is either a pass or a fail result... Its just a matter of the computer reaching a decision of how much comprehension of nursing care that a candidate has... If you have failed, just accept it and do better... It's not a measure of someone's being... nor the amount of intelligence a person has..... You should be proud because you have finished the courses needed to be taking the exam... Please never look down yourself because you know yourself more than anyone else... You are not alone... A lot of people experienced your pain and look at them now...they are all successful RNs now... Someday we will all be... Anyway, don't lose hope... Keep on praying.... Keep on studying... :) Here's to our success!
  7. Hi Jack No worries... I understand how treacherous it is to wait for the results.. Anyway, I hope I did help ease your pain... My best wishes to you and pls free to email me if you need to vent... lol... :) Have a wonderful week!
  8. Hi there.. Well from my experience, your # of questions answered in the exam is neither a pass or a fail result. You do not need to call the BON and ask for your result. This further delays their work in processing results...They cannot help you either. If your result has not been received for a month, definitely check back with them. Release of the test results do vary , sometimes you can get the result within a week , two weeks etc. I think its because some things are manually done. (As you can see we are still not on the quick results program) Going online and checking to see if the board had issued you a license is a wonderful tool, however not as reliable as the "snail mail" from the BON. I know what you are feeling and its treacherous! Be patient...At least you know that you have done your best in your exam and you should be proud of yourself. I do wish you success!
  9. Emem Well a few review centers is out there...(not like in the PI) I graduated there too and it would be best to study the SAUNDERS Comprehensive Review. I have taken Kaplan and other Review centers but review centers dont know what your weaknesses are...you do... So it would be best to go study the NCLEX on your own. References are great too and yes, practice tests, and READING is the best way to prepare.... Goodluck on your exam .....
  10. Hi Suzanne I wanted to ask you for a sticky on how to study for the NCLEX RN ? My last exam was Sept of last year, however I didnt had the chance to review (which I regret) and now I am lost... Can you please give me tips on how to start again??? I planned to use the Saunders again because it did help me last time... Actually I have 3 different review books that I wanted to read into which is EXAM CRAM for NCLEX RN NSNA Nclex RN and the Saunders I figured that I need to add other books to broaden my knowledge and be familiar with other questions.... I just don't know how to incorporate them all.. Im planning to take the board again next May so I wanted to be really prepared this time... My other friends told me that a study partner is good too... But I'm not comfortable with that...I have been out of the medical field for more than 10 years and I am not equipped with the needed tools to help me pass this exam. I need your expertise... Thanks!
  11. Hi Suzanne, Can you send me a packet that maybe I can use to help me go through this exam again.. I didnt pass this time around but the content that I messed up on was the Reduction of Risk Potential- lab values etc... Oh, I know this was horrible for me because I had difficulty in answering questions, but the other categories for NCLEX I did pass... well near the passing standard that is... Anyway, I am already using Saunders which by the way helped me a lot... I guess I just need more discipline in planning for my time to study and maybe some help on how to remember things like the values... I hated memorizing... Your help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, the exam I took was for CA RN. Thanks!
  12. Hello Well I got my result just today...( i think it came Saturday).. Just as I suspected, sorry I didnt pass. But I feel good about it ... At least I know the result and I know where I need to study on. What sucks is that I only have one item that was below standard which is my Reduction of Risk Potential... So yes by tomorrow, back to the drawing board.... At least I know I am ready but not quite... Anyway, I am not ashamed of it... And I am defintely going to get ready for the next exam, hopefully 3 or 4 months from now... If you havent received the result yet, my goodluck to you... If not, hey, there's no harm in trying again right ?? :kiss
  13. I CANT AGREE WITH U MORE... Reviewing takes so much time and energy... Im really praying hard...
  14. I answered 168 questions...gosh...im about to fall out of my chair... I was the only one left in the test center.....I'll let you know if I pass or fail... I wish both of us will make it .... If not, just like what they say... There's always a next time... (sigh)...:chuckle
