Hello everyone!

This is to start a thread for anyone starting the BSN program at West Coast University, Ontario campus, in January 2014! Just wanted to help stay up with any new information, discuss any of the application process, and to use this maybe as a support system. Lol.

Those of you who've gone through the "applying to nursing school" process, or are going through the process now, know it is not an easy task to get into the pre-nursing/prerequisite classes needed to apply to nursing school let alone get into a nursing program. It's a struggle to say the least and can be quite discouraging at times. Especially getting school rejections. I have friends right now that have been waiting literally for years on waiting lists, and/or are still waiting just to get into certain prerequisite classes. I've learned over the last few years that it's not just about patience, which is something that you'll most definitely need, but it's also about faith, hard work, having the right priorities in place, dedication, staying and or finding positivity out of all situations and an unwillingness to give up. I know, because of what type of program it is, it's going to be tough but I can't wait! People can say whatever they want to say about whatever program they want, but I figure you get out of it what you put into it. That's pretty much any school and any program. The 7+ RNs I personally know that have graduated from WCU, Ontario (campus specifically) are all awesome nurses with great careers at great hospitals or with great companies; from Methodist Hospital, to UCLA, to Loma Linda University, to Scripps. It's about what you put into it and what you take from it.

I have my pre-nursing/prerequisites and my general education completed so besides a few classes I couldn't take at the local cc my program will be mostly nursing which I'm pumped on. I know that the hard work has just begun and I'm sure it will be even harder than even expected but I have never been more ready mentally than I am in life right now. I'm so excited to be starting this new chapter in my life (that I've waited for, for so long).

I truly wish everyone the best of luck and I look forward to starting the program and meeting any and all new colleagues.
