British nurse moving to los angeles

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello everyone!

I am moving to Los Angeles, CA in around 5 months on a spousal visa. I have applied to do a course at King's College London (Gateway to Nursing in North America) that teaches everything needed to fulfil the clinical and theory elements for BON in CA (peds, mental health and obs/gynae).

However, after reading some more posts online I have seen that other nurses have been denied approval as anything they studied post-registration doesn't count (one nurse had done a Post-graduate diploma which met the requirements but was denied permission to sit the NCLEX).

The deadline to pay for this course is tomorrow (Jan 3rd 2018) so hoping for some advice asap!

Has anyone here successfully moved to California and got their nursing license that trained in the UK after the year 2000?

Thanks in advance!

Emma

Could you ask the legal team who are helping with your documents for emigration? Are you applying for a green card? Or will you be on the H1 visa?

Hi Emma!

I got married on December 22nd 2017 so also qualify for a spousal visa. We're just starting the application process.

I can send you an email.
