Hey . .. Im right there with you. I am applying to Sac, Chico, Humboldt, Stanislaus, and Sonoma. This is my second time applying - i applied to Chico and Humboldt for this spring - I am alternate #25 for Humboldt and #85 for chico. My GPA at the time of application was 3.5, but i just completed 15 units and got all As, so mine should be about 3.7 now And my TEAS was real bad -79, so im going to retake that soon - and actually study for it this time! So Im trying to remain confident, but the problem is that every year the competition is getting steeper and steeper - Sac state had a 10 point jump in one semester - crazy. Where are you located? We'll have to keep each other updated. . its gonna be a long wait
I'm from San Jose but I can't apply for it and east bay cause of their prereq deadline is a few weeks before my winter grades are in, since I go on a quarter system. I thought an 84 on the TEAS wasnt bad, I just pretty much winged it. Aced every subject but literally bombed the english section 3 I should retake it but doubt it'll be any better.
I was #10 on the alternate list for Humboldt, but I got into SJSU's nursing program for spring 09. My scores were so-so. I had about a 3.5 for prereq and 3.5 for cumulative and my TEAS score was 89. I have a feeling that they give preference for those who live closer to the area? (I'm from SJ)
I applied to sac state, chico, humboldt, long beach, stanislaus, san bernardino, and fresno. So far I have gotten into long beach, chico, humboldt, and stanislaus (havent heard from fresno or san bernarindo yet) and didnt get into sac state. Sac state's points jumped from 74-84 with one term, prolly because of the new cirriculum. I have a 3.9 overall GPA, got a 89.4% on my Teas, have work experience and 200+ hours of volunteer work. Sac States admission points will probably only get higher with each semester which kinda sucks. I have decided to go to Chico out of all the schools I got into becuase they have a great program, gorgeous campus, and my mom graduated from there! Gl to you all in the upcoming semesters!

I think also because Sac State only admitted 40 last semester a lot of good candidates maybe waited to apply -- or reapplied -- this semester (when they admitted 60, as usual), making it even more competitive. It's alarming now to see what the point cut-off is and the GPAs/TEAS scores of people not being admitted...
But congrats and good luck at Chico!
Thanks for the input. FUTURE_ER_RN, the 4 schools you got accepted into- do you mean the universities in general or school of nursing? And what term are you applying for if you're not in the program yet? Thanks :)

Hey guys, I'm applying to a bunch of CSUs for next fall and want to know where I'm standing. After looking at the statistics for sac and a few other schools, I'm feeling kinda discouraged, even though I thought my grades were pretty good.
My overall GPA is like 3.7-3.73ish, with sciences prereqs around the same area as well. I have a 3rd part of anatomy/physio and last part of chem + stats to go but nothing should change drastically.
TEAS score was like 84.7% or something
97hours of volunteering on letter head from a hospital
Comparing to the past 2 years, I'm below average for sac state, and probably the same for every other csu too. Their cutoff is about 74pts, while I'm at about 64ish including pts for languages and stuff.
I applied to sac, SDSU, stanislaus, chico, sf, humboldt, and fresno.
What do you guys think? am I just anxious? thanks
