Any tips or tricks to getting in? I got denied the first time I tried this. I am hoping to get in because all of the hospitals around me are overbooked with volunteers and I need 100 hours by next March and it has to be "direct patient contact". I have my CNA license but there aren't any jobs so Im volunteering.
    Any help would be great!

I would suggest reaching out to the on-site CCE Manager and asking how you can improve your application/interview to join the program.

or why not join an EMT program? Better cases imo

i would but the school i applied to give extra points for volunteering/healthcare job....which is due by march 2012 so i dont exactly have a lot of time on my hands and just about all hospitals around me are overbooked for volunteers right now! can you believe that? ugh so alas i guess i am screwed...unless you know of like an 8 week EMT program lol! i have my CNA license but no experience so its hard to even get a job as that! btw i need 200+ volunteer for max points or documentation of CNA job (doesnt matter how long i was there) so yea....i guess i am SOL

    Hi,
I have an interview for CCE @ Hoag this month. I was trying to see what my chances are of being accepted... What type of people are they looking for? Do they have preference on whether the applicant is enrolled in a nursing program? Anyone currently in the program at Hoag and can share their experience?
I'm planning on attending a CC for Spring 2012 semester to take some pre-reqs and figure out if ABSN is the route I want to take but I can't make that decision and fully commit if I don't get any experience in a hospital setting to see if it is actually what I want and can handle.
    Thank you!

Hi LateStarter_inCA, how did your interview go? did you get in? I am interested in applying for CCE to Hoag as well. Do you remember what questions they asked in the interview? and did they still have the essay questions and what did they ask? - I get nervous with writing, so I would like to prepare early.

hope you can share your experience with me, if you feel more comfortable sharing with email, my email is hchan023@gmail.com thank you so much!!
