Go the the CA BRN website and also BVNPT and look for accredited schools. They have them in order by name, and then to the right you will see the location. Hope this helps. Good Luck

I went to West Coast University (WCU) in Anaheim. It is expensive, however it is up to you on how long your willing to wait in a community college. I took all my pre-req's at a community college, since I was an LVN i thought it would be easier for me to get in. However, there are lots of LVNs trying to transition as an RN too. So the waiting list is also long. After finishing all my pre-reqs I went to my counselor spring 2008, she told me that I have to wait until Fall 09 just to get in the waiting list!!! :no: :no: And then probably another 3-5 years on the waiting list. So I enrolled at WCU spring 08 and graduated last month. Now i am a jobless RN...hahahaha...If you have some college pre-reqs, they will subtract that from your tuition. It might be expensive, however, 3-5 years on the waiting list is too long for me. Plus if I get a job, that will be 3-5 years experience under my belt, rather than waiting for that long. If you are really interested call them, the longer you wait, the higher the tuition goes!!!

You should contact the board of nursing when considering a school that is not accredited. You may not be able to sit for state boards.

I wouldn't recommend going to a school that isn't accredited.. you might as well throw your time and money to a charity. So go to the BRN website and make sure the school you are considering is accredited. As Wandie said, you might not be able to sit for boards.

If you are willing to move to NorCal, Samuel Merritt University has an ABSN program.
