New grad... Job Hunt

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi there!

Just like many of you I am a new grad RN... passed my boards in February and having a very difficult time finding a job. I received my BSN from GCU. Any tips? Or anyone know of places hiring? Anything helps! Thanks :)

Apply everywhere. Including out of state. Try Idaho,Wyoming, New Mexico. Set up job agents. Try nursing homes, jails and prisons. I applied to over 225 jobs in 5 different states. Had two job offers from Idaho, one from Wyoming.Today I finally got an offer here in the Valley. I know Yuma Regional offers a new grad program once or twice a year. I believe it is a three year commitment. Be persistent, call and follow up on your applications. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

R u in phx or Scottsdale area? If so you should apply at Scottsdale Village Square. They are looking for RN...new or experienced doesn't matter. They will train you. Good luck! :-)

I am a new grad too and have applied to over 70 positions. I haven't even gotten one interview. Unfortunately, I cannot leave the Phoenix area. I'll look into Scottsdale Village Square. Thanks for the tip!

This is what scares me the most! I graduate in just a few months and i know I want to apply to a BSN program soon after however, I want to secure a job before I continue my education. Mainly because I don't want to have to take out too much more student loans. I know most places prefer BSN or at least want you to have started it so I'm definitely concerned. Good luck to everyone! Keep us posted if you get an offer :)
