NAU Flagstaff - Traditional BSN - Fall 2011

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi guys! Who applied to the NAU Flagstaff campus? I know the deadline was only three days ago, but I'd like to get in touch with some other Flagstaff hopefuls as we wait for April to get here :). That seemed to be when letters went out last year.

Thought I'd say "HI". I've applied for NAU - Tucson. I've gotten little response to threads looking for people applying for Tucson (there are a few of us though). I thought no one wanted to "talk" to me . . . LOL. Guess there just aren't many NAU folks on this board.

Have you done your prerecs in Flag? Have you heard anything about when letters will go out? Based on the previous years I'm assuming the 3rd week of April.

Best wishes.

hi there...i applied for the nau traditional program at flagstaff. i am not sure of any of the details of getting accepted, but really like the idea of living in flagstaff. i have worked in research for the past 5 years and really want to be on the clinical side! best of luck to everyone who applied.

LOL. Yeah, I don't know where the other NAU folks are. Hopefully not many people applied! (I wish...)

I'm actually from California. I have family in Flagstaff which is why I chose to apply to nursing school there. I don't know anything about letters except what you know - about the 3rd week in April based on previous years. I have two prereqs in progress (A&P 2 and Micro). My prerequisite gpa right now is about 3.3 (not good, I know), and my cumulative HESI score is 93.02%. But my Evolve Reach account also says that my HESI score is 91.82% with a class average of 83%. So...I don't know which one it is.

Best of luck to everyone!

Research- lol you're name cracks me up especially in light of your post. I've only visited flag but my husband did his undergrad there an eon ago. He liked it except for the snow.

D-the evolve account said the same class average when I took it here in Tucson. Hmm. Where did you take the Hesi? I got in the mid 90's on the Hesi and have a 3.9 gpa. I'm nervous though b/c they only have 20 seats in the Tucson program. It doesn't seem super far fetched to me that 20 people have 4.0.

Best of luck to you both.

I took it at a Prometric testing center about half an hour from where I live.

I think the Flagstaff program takes 30 people, but like you, it doesn't seem too far fetched to me that 30 people would have a 4.0 gpa. But I'm still holding out hope!

Hi everyone! I new to the threads but I applied to both Nau Flagstaff and Tucson. Im very nervous about getting in I have a 3.6 gpa and got a 94% on my hesi and have one class in progress. What does everyone else have?

This is from the nursing website at NAU hopefully it helps calm some nerves.

"For our Traditional, 4 year program, each year we admit 60 students to our Flagstaff campus, 40 students to our Tucson campus, 20 students to our Yuma campus and 10 students to the American Indian program as resources allow. In the past we have had as many as 125 applicants per admission cycle."

Beege - these numbers are per year. So only 30 spots in flag for fall and 20 in Tucson.

hi everyone!

I applied to flagstaff as my first choice and tucson as my 2nd. one of my friends told me that her friend who applied to nau already received her letter of acceptance. which is weird because I remember ---- saying that they come mid April. Now I am freaking out because i didn't hear from them at all! anyways I wish everyone the best of luck! I am not sure I will get in because my gpa is 3.4-3.5 and i retook the HESI :( but anyways good luck everyone!

Maybe it was an acceptance to NAU (the school) not the nursing acceptance. Once all your transcripts are evaluated the undergraduate admissions has to accept you. This can happen before or after the college of nursing does to my understand. Based on previous semesters and what I have been told I'm expecting something April 20th give or take a week. Best of luck.

Yeah, that was what I though too because I was told this last week! So many she just assumed it was to the nursing program! Anyways, thanks! :)
