NAU Fall 2013 Hopefuls

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hey all,

I just applied to NAU for the Fall semester. I figured I'd start this topic in hopes of meeting others who have applied and we can keep each other company while we wait for letters. Please join in on the conversation if you applied for NAU fall 2013 BSN OR if you're a current student and have pointers for us. Thank you, look forward to meeting some people!

Oh and the alternate stuff does come in a big manilla envelope too :)

Is there a deadline for accepting the Indian one? I would call and actually talk to someone so you can better weigh your options!

The American Indian one is first come first serve and they only offered it to the top alternates but I just don't see how it would work because it is SO far from everywhere! What is the acceptance deadline for those of you that got in?

Woohoo FINALLY!! Got into to NAU YUMA :) soah will see you at orientation!!!

@NauYma2013:^^See you then!!!:x3:

@katielynnj2: yeah I would definetly call and weigh your options, but wow first come first serve huh?

they must be really competitive over there

Guinevere39, I think I replied to your pm, but I'm not very good at navigating this site other than the forums, so I'm not sure if it went through (it doesn't show up under "comments so far")...

For all the current students on here, my number one question is there anything (CPR, physical/immunizations, etc.) that took a long time and need to be done like now? I'm going to do them as soon as I can, but I'm focusing on finishing my semester first. Is there anything I should NOW?

^^Great questions! I think we'd all be grateful to know the answer to those!

Yes! I should have thanked you guys in advance. My mind is going crazy with so many questions and orientation is a lonnnnnnnnnnng time from now. Any information you can provide ahead of time is very much appreciated!!

No, everything was pretty simple. I had everything done except the TB test (because that has to be done within a certain time period before classes begin) and was waiting around on that before I could turn everything in and get registered. On the nursing insurance you have to wait for it to get approved, so do it early in case there is a holdup. There are lots of CPR classes available - do one that lasts you two years.

I would say that you should get on the fingerprint card since that can take weeks. I know that until everything is in order you can't start clinicals, but that's not for a few weeks after school starts. If things are in progress for the first few weeks of school, you'll be fine.
