LPN Jobs?????

U.S.A. Arizona

Hello Everyone!!! I had a quick question for those of you that work in hospitals or clinics. I am in block 2, will be done in December and as far as I know I can take the LPN test after block 2 is complete. Question is.............does anyone know of any hospitals that still hire LPN's?

In my clinical rotation there was one in the ED, but that's the only one I've run into. I was thinking about testing after block 2 and getting a job as an LPN instead of continuing working as a CNA. Any help would be great!!! TIA!!!

It's super rare to find an LPN job for a hospital. As a new grad LPN they will be pretty much non existent. If you get your LPN, then you will likes work in LTC home care, or maybe corrections.

What at school do you attend. Only a few qualify a student to sit for NCLEX PN after block two. Many require an extra clinical course to cover OB and mental health since those aren't covered until later in many programs.

Sorry for the late response. I am at GCC in the CEP program. I know the job market is rough, but I work for Banner and Estrella and Boswell hire LPN's in the ER. So that's what I am hoping to do if I can sit for the test.

I am also in the MCCCD program at SCC. To sit for NCLEX-PN, you first have to take a transition course after you complete block 2. Its like a month or two long I think and covers OB and Mental health. Last year it was offered in April. You will already be half done with block 3 at that point. Your program advisor will know if your block 3 class or clinical schedule will interfere with the class and clinical schedule for the transition course. GL

Thanks so much. At that point I might as well wait until block 3 is over and take the test in the summer if I still want to do that. Don't know if I want to pay for two boards so close to one another. And I don't want to have to pay for the bridge class. Thanks so much!
