Hello,

My name is Keisha and I am currently taking the prereqs for GCU's summer 2012 program. Is anyone else thinking about applying?

My first choice is the program at St Joe's.

is there different between regular fingerprint card and regular one?

@johnnyare : How long did it take to get your finger print card?

Yes there is a difference between the two cards. According to the website, Section 411758.07 was enacted which placed a higher eligibility standard to receive a Level One card than what is needed for a regular card."

If I remember correctly, I think it took about 5 weeks. I think I told Stoofanie 4-6 weeks. According to the website, Fingerprint Clearance Cards Information : Online Services - Arizona Department of Public Safety

How long will it take to get my Fingerprint Clearance Card?

The average processing time is five to eight weeks depending on whether or not the person has a criminal record. Please ensure you affix sufficient postage to the envelope and place your return address in the top left corner of the envelope.

Hope this helps!!!

Are there any others out there lurking (who were accepted to GCU for the Summer 2012 term)?

I'm waiting for my finger print packet in the mail! Thanks Johnnyarei thanks for calculating the prices. I hope some of the books lizzyru mentioned are part of the book fees! Now it's getting everything set together!

You're welcome! I am just SOOO ready to start. I should be finished with my COM 270 class on 5/4, so I'll be ready to start nursing classes on 5/7! I'm not too thrilled about taking UNV 303 with the nursing classes, but I will find a way to make it work!

I think that I am going to buy all of the books that Lizzyru recommended. I know that I will need them in the future anyway.

Yeah that's what I was going to do too. The book list she provided was super helpful too!

Do you have to take christian world view too or just the university success course??

Specializes in Women's Health.

I have to take both classes. I am just going to follow their suggestions. I will be taking university success during Level 1 and Christian World View during Level 4. I know it will be a tough course load, but I couldn't afford to pay for it before hand :(. I just hope the books aren't too expensive.

University success isn't bad at all. It's just basic writing skills! I'm taking Christian World View in March so I'll let you know how that is!! The university success book is online and I'm not sure about CWV!

Thanks.

I think that both of the courses are online. I know that University Success was an 8 week course, but did you have the option of finishing it early? I wonder if I can try to get it done within the first couple of weeks - so I can focus on my nursing courses.

I was wondering the same thing I heard UNV Success was a lot of busy work and I rather get it done with before our nursing classes start. Are you guys doing anything else to prepare like reading NCLEX questions? If so what NCLEX book did you buy?

Specializes in Women's Health.

I have not prepared with NCLEX questions yet. It would be a good idea though. I meet with my financial advisor tomorrow. I'm so nervous!!!

BTW - GCU gives physicals in their health office for $20.

I just bought the NCLEX book. I bought the saunders comphrehension review for the NCLEX-RN. I read the review in amazon many people said that this book really good.
