current GCC student...1 more class till i can get on the list

i've been at gcc for 4 years because i was unsure what i wanted to do, and i didn't want to stop going, and also i got to stay on my parents insurance. i do have a low gpa, at about 2.5 because of some BSing at the beginning of school. anyways all i need is fundamentals of chemistry....i've taken bio 156, and 201...and from what i understand 202 and 205 can be taken while you're waiting. i've just been going off the check sheet and taking classes accordingly. does GPA have anything to do with getting accepted? is there anything i can to speed up the 2+ year wait list? i'm currently working as a pharmacy tech at a non-retail pharmacy and someone told me i could get my employer (the owner) to move me up on the list.

i pretty much have everything needed except chemistry130...and then the bio 202 and 205....so after this semester of chemistry i plan to sign up for the wait list to for AAS for RN

any tips/suggestions?

your boss cannot move you up on the list. the only way students get moved up on the list is if their employer is in a partnership with the school, and they get accepted into that program. some of these partnerships include banner boswell and scottsdale healthcare's alliances with the community colleges.

the gpa requirement is 2.0, so you should be ok. i just checked the wait list, and it's at 2,942. so, it's looking like it's going to be more than a 2 year wait now.

good luck!

ahhh dang lol. i need one chemistry class for pre reqs...the co reqs can be done during the wait right?

also what if one was to fail a nursing class, does the wait start over? i don't plan to fail but i mean i'm still curious

yes, you can do your co-reqs during the wait.

if you fail and there is room in the next semester for you, you can retake the class. a lot of people in my class failed second semester and there was not room for them in the next class coming in, and they had to go back onto the waiting list.
