CAC nursing program questions

Hello all,

I am currently finishing up prereqs for CACs nursing program and will be obtaining my CNA over the summer so I can apply for the Spring '13 block 1

I have read all that I could find on the CAC nurisng website but I am interested in some first hand accounts about the program, the instructors, the facilities, just everything!

also, the link on their site wouldnt work for me, does anyone know what the tuition cost is for the program?

COSTS - NURSING PROGRAM 2012

Required Texts: First year (from CAC bookstore) = $625.45

Drug book and Medical Dictionary = $200.00

Second year (from CAC bookstore) = $285.45

Recommended texts are available at variable costs depending upon student selection.

Nursing Entrance Exam Fee: $ 32.

CNA class taken at CAC: $420. (6 credits x $70.)

AZ Board CNA exam fee: $ 50.

CPR training and card: $ 35.

Certified Background Check: $116. (2

year renewal fee - $10.)

Other starting costs include uniforms (Apparel Pro: $30 for pants and top), stethoscopes, watch, and

penlight which can vary depending upon where the student makes their purchases.

Tuition AZ Resident: $70/credit

Tuition Out of state: $140/credit

For all courses by semester:

Block 1 Tuition total: 16 credits = $1120 (in state) $4992 (out of state)

Block 2 Tuition total: 17 credits = $1190 (in state) $5304 (out of state)

Optional LPN course: 3 credits = $210 (in state) $420 (out of state)

Block 3 Tuition total: 18 credits = $1260 (in state) $5616 (out of state)

Block 4 Tuition total: 16 credits = $1120 (in state) $4992 (out of state)

Total without LPN: 67 credits = $4690 (in state) $20,904 (out of state)

Total with LPN: 70 credits = $4900 (in state) $ 21,324 (out of state)

Program Total without LPN: $5704.90 (in state) $21,918.90 (out of state)

CAC Graduation Fee: $ 20.
