All of you who took AP1 could you please give me an advise. How can I prepare myself as I am going to take it in the fall at GCC. Are there any help books/flash cards that I can buy and what are they? Also, what can I expect during the class? Are there any essays to write as with Rio classes or is it tests only?

Thank you,

Use the password that comes with the book and go to the books website. http://www.aw-bc.com/applace/

Lots of tutorials/videos/flashcards. Even the whole book online.

I took both AP 1 and 2 recently at gateway. Book is expensive but you can use it for both classes and the having password alone is invaluable.

I believe most people consider Gray's Anatomy to be the premier study guide for A&P.

i really liked the anatomy coloring book and... barron's anatomy cards sometimes helped me for the labs when you have to memorize all the parts..you can get both at the bookstore or at amazon..good luck!!!!

Thank you all for your input. I just finished the Rio's BIO156 accelerated class and it took me a lot of time. I am glad it is done. I know that BIO156 is nothing compared to AP1 and I am a little bit scared.

A&P really isn't that hard, so don't psych yourself out. I think the best way to study for both A&P's is to read the book, then if there are some specific areas that your having a hard time comprehending, search the internet for reliable animation websites (there are tons of them). This technique also works really well in micro (which to me was easier and alot more fun than A&P). A couple of the websites i used are:
