Another question????

Guess I am full of them today! Actually, it is two questions. The first is, for those of you RN's, CNA's and PCT/PCA's that work at either a Banner or SHC hospital, are you able to work more than the 3 12 hour shifts per week if you want to? Or, do they limit you to just the 3 12's? Also, are you able to pretty much pick the days you work, or is it up to the hospital what days you work? Like, if you WANTED to work nights or weekends, are you pretty much accomodated? Last, if you are working the 3 12's, do you get paid for 36 hours or 40, if you are full time?

Guess that is more than 2 questions! lol. Just some things I was wondering though. Any response would be appreciated.

Banner self schedules, meaning they let you pick and try to plug you in where you want. You work every 3rd weekend. You either apply for a day shift or a night shift position, you don't work all over the place. Obviously nights pays more at a 20% shift differential, new grad base rate at Banner right now is 24.75 I believe. You can, for the most part, pick up OT, but it depends on the floor and obviously the current need. I think a lot of it is sorta "on call" meaning if they call you in you get double time, if not nothing (but you still sat there and waited all day). You work, full time, 3 12's and get paid for 36 not 40, although typically week you are almost at 40 anyway by the time all is said and done.

I have not worked as an RN at Banner but I have friends that do. HTH!
