Hi everyone,

I just want to know if you guys know of any good accredited school in southern Al.

Do you know about these three schools:

Reid State College(Atmore,Al)

Faulkner state(Bay Minette, Al)

LBW Community College(Opp,AL)

I'm in Fl right now but want to find a school that has the Lpn program that is accerdited.

Thank you

I will be starting Faulkner in about 2 weeks.(you will have to transfer to get your BSN).

I looked at all the options.

There is Bishop State but it has lost accred. 2 times.

There is also University of Mobile but they had some financial problems a few years ago and are trying to regain by charging $4000 a semester.

There is USA.

And there is Springhill (the Jesuit College--they have a 100% passage on nursing boards).

I would suggest Faulkner if you are just going for LPN at this time. But school is just about to start so hurry.

For sure, stay away from Bishop!!! USA does not have an LPN program. If Faulkner has one, I would go there. I'm not sure what type of program they have there. I think they just started it up. The campus is nice as are the teachers.

Faulkner has a new program. You are right. It is new. They have an LPN and an RN Associate program

If you need some pre-req's, you can go ahead and start those. Otherwise, you can go ahead and fill out paperwork for LPN program (they take new students once a year--after you have had your pre-req's).

Registration is on the 5th at Bay Minette, or the 6th in Fairhope. I will be taking 2 classes on the Bay Minette campus and 2 on the Fairhope campus.

I will be transferring after I get my math and most of my science.

You can call me if you wish to chat. The nursing program on Bay Minette Campus are held in the Tyson building. For some reason I can remember that! :)

I am currently attending Jefferson Davis Community College, it is a great school, with a great nursing program! The main campus is in Brewton, AL, however I am completing my second year on the campus in Atmore, AL. I will graduate December 2004. If you are interested in becoming an RN, I would definitely look into Jeff Davis! Faulkner is new, and not yet accredited. Also, I'm not sure where you live in FL, but Jeff Davis allows a lot of FL residents to attend without having to pay out of state tuition.

FSCC is accredited on a probationary basis, with full accredation based on the first class taking boards May 2005.

My advice to pre-nursing students is to not worry about picking a school, apply to them ALL! You will find waiting lists everywhere.

Good Luck!

I wasn't trying to knock Faulkner, that's where I took most of my pre-req's, but when she asked about schools that were accredited, I thought she wanted to know about schools that were already accredited, since Faulkner is on a probationary period it may or may not be accredited in 2005. Faulkner is a nice school, and will probably have no problem meeting the requirements.

Hey guys thanks a whole bunch.

I love you guys!:kiss

hi,

i live in prattville, al. i attend troy state, looking to attend nursing school next year. I heard it was hard to get in there. is this true. one girl told me that they already accepted her without taking the nln. what's up with that. i thought you had to take the nln first to get in the program.

peace.

teddy, you could always call and ask them.

Hi, I know this is late, but I'm new here. I know that LBW/Opp has a LPN program and just approved an ASN nursing program. From what I hear from the LPN students, you finish LPN and must work 400 hours and then enter the LPN to ASN program. This is new and the first ASN class has not started yet. I'm not sure prob. fall-2004. Good luck.
