Jeff St PT RN program

U.S.A. Alabama

I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information on the Jeff State pt program? Specifically, some idea of the schedule--is it weekday nights or weekends, or both? Reading these threads really scares me, but I have 2 young children, and I think it might be the best program for me to juggle with my schedule as well being able to keep my pt job. Any information you have is greatly appreciated. Thank you! :nuke:

You should really check out the full time program. I have 3 kids and didnt think I could do full time but its doable. Plus you'll be done faster!! There are several people working and have kids in the full time program. Best wishes!!

I am finishing my first semester in the part-time program. This semester has been Tues and Thurs 5:30pm to 8:30pm. We dont always stay that late. Next semester is one class, but it is still 2 nights a week (one night for class and one night for lab) also about halfway through we will start clinicals. Thus far from what we have been told they are mostly on the weekend. if we have to take a weekday clinical then it will start at 4 pm.

Maybe this will give you an idea of what the schedule is like and if its doable for you. Also, they only take students once a year for this program, so next entry will be next fall.

Thank you so much for your response!! That is exactly the type of information I needed. I have a couple more questions, if you don't mind. Are your classes held at St. Vincent's or are they at the Jeff State campus? Also, have you experienced the disorganization that other PTers complain of in these threads? I do think that I could swing the FT program if need be, but I am separated from my husband, and I think it would be easier on my children if I could still be with them during the day. I have been lucky enough to stay home with them since they were born, and they are having a hard enough time right now without me being gone most days. I'm just trying to figure out what would be best for all of us! Thanks again for your response. Take care!

I havent noticed any issues personally. Right now we are at jeff campus, next semester we will be at shelby. They allowed us to vote and majority pick which campus. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask anytime - sorry its been awhile since I have checked back in here!
