I feel like a dingbat

Specialties Agency

Dear fellow nurses....I did agency and worked x4 shifts and the hospital wanted to buyout the agency for 15 grand...they offered me 31 dollars/hr ...no bennies...i turned it down bec i needed the bennies....The other x2 nurses from other agencies were bought out for 15 grand. I am an adult nurse and did not work peds psych since 1997 and am really scared working with DCFS kids in psych unit for a non profit hospital WITH NO SECURITY...with no bennies and i started imagining myself with a cracked head....where on earth will i go for medical ff ups...i know about work related injuries..im saying even now...i have to wait whole day in government hospital for health issues bec i have no bennies and working hit and miss jobs with occ medicine.

1. Anybody experienced agency buyout? What are the pros and cons? During my interview, I was never told about what if the nurses BREAKS the contract....

2. Do the buyed out nurse pay money to the hospital if she breaks the contract? I was not told anything on interview....just have me sign some papers so i did not bother coming to sign the papers at HR....

3. Isnt BUYED OUT CONTRACT means the nurse who was not a DIRECT HIRE... sold her soul to the hospital?:eek:

I feel like a dingbat....lost....tearful...having nightmares...now i am scrambling to apply elsewhere AND other agencies...i did not feel right in my gut with this BUYED OUT deal so i turned the job offer down.....

Thanks for listening.....((((())))))))))) Feel like sleeping and not waking up....

You should have cleared your head and come in to read the papers. Sorry have not experienced this, but on the surface it seems it would have been better to have accepted the offer of continued employment versus hit or miss with an agency. Guess you should find another agency for work. Best wishes.
