Depends on what was in the letter back then, but it actually has been a requirement of theirs for sometime. It is just that they are really enforcing it now.

All other countries actually require the local license first, and we did here in the past when the CGFNS exam was required for all. But that has gone by the wayside and we are seeing more and more states require it once again.

And expect that it will be the US government that will require it again as a screening tool, not just on the state level.

hi suzanne,

sorry wasn't able to double check my previous post, it's just now that i realized that it was incomplete. no need to ask questions on this topic i read again the thread and it was well answered by you. thanks for all the information you've been a great help especially for nurses who needs to be enlightened in a profession that we chose to follow.

Best Regards,

lorein

The processing time for the PRC validation is one week. They will ask you whether you would like it sent to CGFNS via ordinary mail or a courier. If you chose to send it through ordinary mail they will not ask you to come back after one week because they will send automatically after accomplishing the form (cost: 75 pesos processing fee, 120 pesos postage).

If you chose to send it through a courier, they will ask you to come back after one week (for them to process/ accomplish the form) then on the day that they've asked you to come back, you will pay for the courier fee, be given the tracking number and you will have a glimpse of that 2 pages of paper (1. the verification form 2. a paper containing a summary of your scores in the board exam and the status of your license.) before they seal it in an envelope and give it to the "DHL" guy.:D

(cost: 75 pesos processing fee, 1,450 pesos for the DHL guy)

Be sure to have a photocopy of your TOR and PRC license on the day of filing for verification. They will just use that as reference, they will not send that to CGFNS.

hi joane

yes you can start applying for local job as long as you have the board rating certificate issued by the prc as proof that you passed the nle. good luck on your job hunt..:wink2:

As far as i can remember I also did apply for a local job right after the board exam even if I still don't have my license yet at that time. What I did was request for a certificate of passing from prc (I think that took me 3 days to a week to get that) and that served as my proof that I passed the board exam and will be issued a professional license soon.

Hope that helps... :heartbeat:redbeathe:heartbeat

the board rating certificate will be sent to your home address...

but during my time, I personally claimed it at the Board of Nursing office in PRC

you can obtain the prc board rating certificate sa prc or from the bon itself. if your applying for local job get one from the prc since the board rating being send by the BON takes time before it can be mailed at your house.
