It's the same test everywhere.

It's the same test everywhere, but please remember that if you are trained anywhere other than the US, you need a VisaScreen issued by CGFNS to be able to practice here.

makes no difference where you sit the exam as it is national exam so all questions for everyone comes from the same pot.

Thanks for the Reply...what do you mean by Visa Screen?...after Nclex, i need to take the CGFNS?i thought NCLEX is enough to work in US...huhuhu need to undergo CGFNS...

What sort of visa do you have for the US? If just a tourist visa and you need to get a work vis of your own then you will need a VSC, if you already have a work/immigrant visa then you do not need a VSC. Also if you need a work/immigrant visa then I suggest you read up on retrogression as you will be affected

i already have a multiple visa...my husband is a american citizen but he's a filipino...we're booked on may 12 for a one month vacation in US and he's planning to apply my immigrant visa (not sure if that's how they call it)...i'm planning to process my NCLEX application there and have my nclex review here in philippines once were back on June...they say nclex exam in US is much easier than here in philippines...so i planned to go back there once i have my scheduled exam...do you think my decision is right coz i'm really confused...sorry kung makulit po ako =)

Your husband need to get your visa sorted before you move and it will take longer than 1 month to do. Because you are married to a USC you do not need VSC. It is just a myth about the exam being different in the US to anywhere else. The exam is the same so taking it in the Philippines would probably be better as you can save money

Whatever state you are planning on living in should be the state processing your paperwork, since you don't have to worry about a visa, you only have to worry about finding a nursing position. Take the NCLEX when you are ready, it doesn't matter where you take it and enjoy your vacation.

What if I don't have any visa yet... Will it be easy for me to get a tourist visa in US just to take the NCLEX? please help..

I think you will find it hard to get a tourist visa for the US. You will probably have to show deep ties to returning after your holiday/vacation

There is no point going to the US on a tourist visa just to sit the exam. If you can take it where you are, do it. Same exam. Costs $200 more to sit overseas, but cheaper than flying to the US. If you have a USC husband and have applied for immigrant visa, there is not much chance they will let you in on a tourist visa as they may not believe you plan to leave after you take the exam.
