    Hey Everyone,

    I am interested in working in California as a nurse over the next few years. I was hoping to get some advice/input from other British nurses or anyone who knows a British nurse who moved to the US recently to work. How was the application process? Were British qualifications transferrable? How was the adjustment to US nursing?

    You will need the required hours of theory and clinical hours in adult, peds, OB and mental health.All must show on your transcript. If you are going the Green Card route you are looking at around 6 years wait.

    and with the job situation in the US and especially CA finding a employer will be difficult. Many US nurses are struggling in CA to find work. You will also need to pass NCLEX once you have been given the OK by CA BRN
