Zone PACU nursing

Has anyone done “Zone” style PACU nursing and could explain how it runs and is it more efficient or better throughput? How do you like it. No need to comment that you’ve never heard of it.

Any description of your hospitals version of this type of PACU staffing is appreciated. One version I have heard is each “zone” is 5 bays  there are 2 nurses to 3 bays and 1 nurse to 2 bays. Seems like a cool concept, just having a hard time picturing how care is organized or how patients are assigned, etc. What happens when you are holding patients waiting for a inpatient room?
