i may be starting this fall or spring '12. can you tell me what the schedule is like for your first semester? i'm hoping to work but now sure how that's going to work out. according to their website, it says that lectures are online or televised, is that correct?

Anyone heard about Yuba College nursing switching to a different system? Last time I checked the webpage, the nursing department are unsure of the system. Anyone heard anything else? I should be applying next year. But hope they make the decision soon.

I am graduating on Dec 16 from Yuba RN program, and they are phasing out the wait list and going to a lottery system. If you are already on the wait list, apparently they will still honor that, just not add any more.

The lottery is going to include a "formula" of GPA, HESI score, work experience, etc.. I think that is the part they are finalizing.

Oh, and I must have missed the post above your, but @QC82, not sure if you are already in the program.. I worked 1/2 time the entire time in school.. it was hard, but doable. My lab partner did the same, which worked out for us since we were in the same boat, we knew how to better support each other.

Thank you for the information. For the work experience, do you know how recent are they expecting the experience to be? Like, for ex, do they have to be one year old to be considered? Also, if the HESI score is part of the formula, does this mean that it has to be taken before applying to the program?

Do you know what is the minimum forumla (I suppose it is express in percentage), to be consider for the lottery? What about the GPA? What is the minimun to reach the formula that's required?

Sorry I asked a lot. It's just that with the changes, and all the other stuffs people have told me, to the information I last heard from a person in the nursing department, I'm just puzzled with the new system. Thank you in advance!

I graduated from Yuba and it wasn't like you said. If you really want to know what the program is like now, why don't you make a sincere effort to find out instead of spreading a lot of trash around and ruining it for people who are counting on going there?
