I'm wondering; what was your orientation like? I know for mine we did a full 40 hour week and had to go through multiple tests, including diagnosing symptoms, pharm with math questions, mock CPR and scenarios, and it just seemed like it was pretty thorough! What was your experience? How many people were in your class?

Ours was 30 hours, 23 was actually in the hospital and the rest was online courses and tests. I can't remember how many of us there were, but it was all RNs that had been hired, not just new grads.
We had one calc test, a critical thinking test, a tour of the hospital, a half day course on the computer system and another half day on the computerized med system. A day of critical thinking exercises and almost a full day of going over legal stuff and liability. We did not do cpr, we all had to be bls certified to get hired so I guess they thought we wouldn't need it.
The online stuff were an osha course, a hipaa course, wound care course and hospital specific courses.
Your class seems like it was more comprehensive, was it a new grad orientation or all newly hired nurses?
