I just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you who have chosen to work in a NICU. My son was born ten weeks early at 2 lbs 12 ozs a little over ten years ago. We didn't know I had an incompetent cervix at the time (hence the early birth). Anyway, I never saw so many caring nurses than I did within those walls of the NICU. You helped me with everything from grief (because I couldn't carry my son full term), to breastfeeding a premature infant, to understanding NG tube feedings. You are all one in a million:) Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Not only did you fight to save my sons life and make him the healthy boy he is now, but you also inspired me to do a career change and enter into the nursing field. Although I'm just starting my first semester now, I hope to be working along side of you someday in my ultimate dream to be in a NICU.
Please pat yourselves on the back today, you are all amazing!

That was nice, thanks! Good luck in your career. You will have a bit of an advantage over most NICU nurses as you know how it feels to be on the "parent side".
