Hey, this question is for any current or past students of the York 2nd entry program.
How were the clinical placements? I have read that York students only do LTC, Rehab, Mental Health and Med-Surg. Do you feel prepared to work in a more acute care setting like a hospital ICU with that experience? It doesn't seem like you really get into the hospital at all...is that true?
Also, where did you do your final consolidation? Would it be possible to do the final placement in a hospital NICU or OR? Or even ICU?
Did you get hired after your placement? Thank you!!!!!

The current nursing job market in Ontario cities is a surplus market, there are way more applicants than jobs and any nursing job a new grad is offered is a good job. If it were me and I was about to embark on a nursing program at York, I'd be more concerned about the possibility of a strike and the impact that could have on my education.
Do you mean a York faculty strike or an ONA union strike? The job market and a nurses strike are outside of my control, but deciding where I attend school is something I can make an informed decision about, hence, the original question.
I mean a York strike. ONA cannot go on strike.
