Yikes Can Some one give me interview advice

i just passed the LPN state boards this past november

i have been sending my resume out NON STOP

not even 1 call back.. im fustrated :banghead:

another thing is im nuervous about a job interview

i know the number one question will be

*** why should we hire you**

how do i answer that

i have never been on a job inter \view and im nervous as hell

my last job i was working as a phlebotomist for 6 years and my sister hired me

so i didnt have an interview

just be confident! if they ask why they should hire you...tell them 2-3 great aspects about your and your abilities as a nurse. make sure you look the person who is interviewing you in the eyes. practice what you will say in the mirror so that your speech is clear and proficient. also, know a little about the company just incase. i had a person as me once, “do you know when this organization was started” and i did because i had researched the company. you should also bring a copy of your resume/references to the interview just incase they need a second one, plus it make you look like you are on top of the game! the next day or two try to send a “thank you letter” to the person who interviewed you. if they haven’t made a decision the thank you letter might seal the deal. you can find a ton of thank you letter layouts by searching with google.

as far sending out your resume, have you been faxing it or handing the resume to someone in person? if you have an original resume like professional blue marble paper (instead of plain white/off white or gray paper) with a heavy stock and choose a layout that is not common. when i was handing out my resume i had an extremely light pink professional marble paper (heavy stock) with a contemporary layout which made my resume flow perfectly. you could barley tell the paper was pink but when it’s a ton of white or gray paper it subtly sticks out. i figured that tons of people where applying for the same position and people usually choose gray or white paper. i placed my resume and references in a matching folder. my boss told me later that my resume stood out because of the color, the layout, and the clarity of my resume. plus, the folder showed her that i was organized and a person who prepares herself and doesn’t procrastinate.
