Hi there,
I would retake all the failed classes to boost your GPA and also retake most science classes you got less than a B in and aim for an A in anatomy, physiology and Microbiology since that's what most nursing schools look at. Then, I would also mention your success story in your essay and if you don't have certifications like MA or CNA, I would try to get one of them. Some community college programs recommend MA programs free of charge if you're already a student there but it might take some time to complete the program if you're taking other classes too. this would help you create a strong application and also look into different ADN and BSN programs. Some ADN programs are lottery-based and accept students every semester.
Good luck:)

I'm a community student looking to transfer to a 4 year for BSN. Unfortunately, due to undiagnosed AuDHD, it's been 10 years of back and forth with college since I could never stay consistent, focused (extremely bad executive dysfunction), and was indecisive. I am now diagnosed and medicated and needless to say I'm doing A LOT better with consistency and routines; however, my GPA sits at 2.46 tight now due to previous college attempts and a few failed classes. I'm retaking everything that's required for nursing but I do have other unrelated classes that would boost my GPA if I retook them. My college factors in the final grade of your last attempt and disregards previous attempts though they still stay on your transcript.
Would you:
A. Just re-take what's necessary and really perfect and personalize your essay? This would put your GPA at only roughly 3.3 - 3.4 by application time.
OR
B. Retake all failed classes, even if unrelated, just for the GPA boost and forfeit applying to nursing schools for fall 2026?
