Hi there, I recommend aiming for A's in all your classes, especially science courses like anatomy, physiology, and Microbiology. It is very competitive, if you want to strengthen your application, and if you have time, I would also try to get an MA or CNA certification and/or some healthcare work experience. If you have some leadership experience in your community, it can help more. I wouldn't worry much and just focus on your essays if some require it for their application, and make sure you have all the prerequisites. Good luck:)

Hi there, I would create a list of all the programs you want to apply to and list all their pre-reqs as well as the recommended courses. You can check on assist.org and their own website to double-check their requirements. Assist.org helps you check the classes offered in your community college that transfer over, and if you have any questions, I would find the email of the programs you're interested in for any specific questions. Hi there, I am a transfer student at UCLA's nursing school, and I transferred from a community college. I don't know anyone who has applied to transfer from UCLA, but you can definitely ask or email the nursing school faculty. Many people in my cohort have GPAs ranging from 3.8-4.0 and mostly A's and a few B's in major science classes, and some certifications and/or work experiences also help, like MA or CNA and hospital volunteering. I personally did the TCAB program at Cedars Sinai, but I know Ronald Reagan also has a volunteering program. I would retake some classes, especially science classes, if you have a grade less than a B, and I would also take some other classes to raise your GPA.

Hi there, I would retake all the failed classes to boost your GPA and also retake most science classes you got less than a B in and aim for an A in anatomy, physiology and Microbiology since that's what most nursing schools look at. Then, I would also mention your success story in your essay and if you don't have certifications like MA or CNA, I would try to get one of them. Some community college programs recommend MA programs free of charge if you're already a student there but it might take some time to complete the program if you're taking other classes too. this would help you create a strong application and also look into different ADN and BSN programs. I also recommend retaking classes and aiming for an A since those three classes are very important and schools usually look at your science GPA but mainly focus on the grade of Anatomy, physio and microbio. I have friends in ADN program and some are lottery-based and accept students every semester so it's also a good idea to keep applying maybe even as you're retaking the classes. Your CNA certification also helps your application since some programs are also point-based and you get extra points for some certifications. I don't know much about LVN to ADN though. Good luck:)

Hi there, you have really good stats and I definitely recommend applying to as many nursing schools as you can. I am a transfer student at UCLA nursing school and just finished my first year and many students who came as a freshman have really good stats, UCLA and UCI are the only UC's that have a BSN nursing program and they both accept students as a freshman and transfer but from my experience, UCI is harder to get in as a transfer at least. if you have hospital volunteering and experience in healthcare and leadership in your community, it can definitely help your application a lot more. I recommend just applying to as many schools as you can and write a really good essay for all. If you decide to go the community college route, you have a lot of options so either way don't be disappointed and do your best. Make sure to maintain a really good GPA and get A's in Anatomy, Physio and Microbio if you do go the community college route since it's still very competitive. Good luck on your journey.
