U.S.A. Texas

Right now I am taking my pre-req at Wtamu, but I'm like terrified about not getting into the program. I was wondering how competitive it is to get into the program & if some of you were admitted what was your gpa and such. Also is the hesi extremely hard? Plus once you get into the program is it difficult or only difficult if you don't study? Thanks in advance!:nurse:

I'm currently in the nursing program at WT; this fall I will be a senior 2. I'm not sure how close you are to completing your core classes, but as of now, the nursing program is not allowed to accept anymore students without the approval of the board of nursing.

I'm not sure what your current gpa is, but there is a requirement of a 2.9 to apply. The Hesi tests aren't that hard. You need to know how to apply material from a strong knowledge foundation. In other words, the questions are harder than the basic knowledge tests other classes are given. The best investment I ever made was in buying a Hesi study guide that's available in the bookstore.

The classes itself require a lot of studying. For the most part, I feel as though I am teaching myself. I haven't studied as much as my classmates, and I'm doing well. It really all depends on how you learn. It is a lot of work; we are talking multiple chapters a week in multiple classes.
